I was a huge fan, went to a lot of games , and you are bang on. It is like have a big bash for hemroids.

I went to a few games. Was happy when they got the franchise and didn't care when they left. Remember when that asshat owner Heisly sang the national anthem to show his commitment to the city?

Hope the Canucks lose 10-0 tonight, so they never consider a Grizzly Night again (not really, but if they do I hope Giroux has a Darryl Sittler night for my pool).

Too bad, he's been playing well.

Still seems to on ice for a lot of goals against. Usually it's his guy in front of the net tipping it in or banging in the rebound. He plays a key role in letting teams back into the game sun we are up a couple of goals

I think his gaffs are way down because he hasn't had the responsibility of moving the puck out of the zone as much this season. Hutton has been able to skate and pass the puck out of the zone very well so far and Sbisa has been able to defer to him a lot more. Even Bartkowski who has issues making passes has been able to skate the puck out of our zone with regularity.

While Sbisa's game is still far from perfect, his strengths are when he is without the puck and hitting opponents. As long as he isn't relied up to pass or skate the puck out of the zone I think he is worthy of a roster spot.

I don't have a problem with Sbisa. I do have a problem with Weber, and I don't want them bringing back Hamhuis next year. We can survive this year and make huge adjustments next year with the cap space

I'm going to be a grump here. But a Grizzlies night is ridiculous. Who gives about them. They were a horrible team with horrible management. They wore ugly uniforms and the owner lied to the city about keeping the team here and then moved them to Memphis. The Canucks shouldn't be celebrating that.

Why waste time with this ?

Basketball has as much place in Canada as NASCAR has in Yellowknife.

Waste of time.

That could be said for Edler or Edler on any given night.
I think Sbisa has shown improvement from last season. Not my favourite Canuck but certainly not singularly at fault for their losses or letting other teams back in the game.

Not sure I understand we you don't like hamius. He's a defensive specialist and played for team canada in key situations so many times. There's reason he was choosen so many times. Hard to find guys like that, I wouldn't just give him up so easily. Solid defender.

sure I'd like to have him for less $ though.

explain please

I agree on Hamhuis, hes a guy I keep around for a rebuild on the fly. He's smart and is given the tough responsibility of being paired with the #4 D of the day/week/month. I see his demeanor as a positive influence on the Hutton and Tanev types that they can bring in. If we had to pick someone from the top 3 to get rid of to speed the rebuild I choose Edler. I cant see his stock getting any higher, nor do I see him being effective in the bottom pairings as he ages in both performance or mentorship abilities.

Thats also not mentioning that hes a physically bigger version of Sbisa when hes not paired with Tanev...

This is an organization though that frequently honors or celebrates much smaller achievements in grander/more serious fashion...

They had a big red carpet gala before the unveiling too, hired celebrities to make appearances to have it seem legit. Same tactic as the time they celebrated being the host of an event. The accomplishments are only as small as your celebration

Yup. Hamhuis is a solid defender, local boy, great character and wants to play for the Canucks.
We've discussed this before, but i hope we resign him this year/off season to a 3 yr deal.
I was in favour of moving Edler last off season (prior to Bieksa) and would agree that he could move this off season (although he has a NTC as well i believe).

I still hope that we move Vrbata, Higgins at the TDL, assuming we are out of the picture, move Edler in the off season.

I like Burr with Bo and Hansen. Hopefully Burr can help get Horvat going.

Burrows has looked good as of late, good speed and has 'burried' a few.

I do like Hamhuis I just don't want a guy that is slowing down extended for more years. Burrows played for Canada at the worlds , I don't want him extended either, and when the Sedins contract runs out I don't want them extended. Everyone has a shelf life.

Hamhuis is slowing down, getting beat more often and very little offensive upside.

Great guy served us well but time to say bye

I could see the Sedins signed to a one year deal or two if they keep producing at a decent rate. Burrows and Hamhuis' team Canada days are long past and the league is getting ever faster as they are slowing down. I like all their contributions over the years but like you said...there comes a time and that time is soon.
