It was nice of the Memphis Grizzlies to celebrate Grizzlies night by pretending they were still The Vancouver Grizzlies. They lost by 50 to the Warriors. - Vanoxy

Everyone was happy with Jake's 1st - A_SteamingLombardi
I haven't seen the team so collectively excited about anything in a long time, feels nice.
With the Luongo situation, Kesler situation, and the play of the team over the last couple years, I doubt it has been a happy place for a long time. Hopefully, that can change this season, and we see the dividends of that on the ice. |

Again Hamhuis won't sign with Canucks for one year. He wants security. I don't believe Benning wants to pay 5 mil for him either otherwise I think he would have been extended by now. Benning seems to be really behind the youth movement and tougher players.
I think next year is a buying year for Canucks. We need to wait 2 years for Boeser , and players like Brisboise and Neill 3 years. I am sure Benning will free up cap space and buy next year. That will mean moving Vrbata Hamhuis and maybe more. - VANTEL
Canucks can talk to him about the plan. Plenty of verbal agreements occur within the hockey world between managers, players and teams, etc... if Tkachook could do it with st.louis, no reason it can't be done here... it's not like Hammer wants to leave B.C.... |

Bo and JVs best game of the year. I thought Bartowski was great even though Giroux made him look like a rookie. Burrows had a very strong game . Too bad McCann missed the empty netter but played a very decent game and showed he can hit.
Good game overall . It is tough to gauge this team and I think we will have highs and lows all year. They are entertaining to watch and Higgins should be moved and let Gaunce start his career . |

He could teach them eye-gouging, biting and hair-pulling. |

If you bring him back then this is your core for the next 3 years. Bad move. Remember how everyone was terrified in the offseason . Time for change to get over the hump. |

It will. Things will change and this is a good transition year for it. |

Gaunce is ready , Higgins is old . JB said, and has proven , that if a young guy is ready he will make room . Gaunce is ready. He would be a very good 3 Rd line LW |

I think WD is giving Baertchi a chance to get going before Higgy draws back in. He doesn't have long Gaunce very well may take his spot. - LordHumungous
I was trying to watch him a little more closely last night and he actually is a smart player. I think the frustrating part is his lack of explosiveness, could be stronger on the puck and that he is timid (the last two are likely related). Other than that he makes some really good plays with the puck. He is obviously skilled, but I think he might be a little underrated for his hockey instincts. Would love to see some breaks go his way so his confidence can get a boost |
