He shot such a low percent last year, I fully expect him to rebound this year and get back to his 20ish goal self if he gets the ice time and stays healthy.

It's a smart tactic. The opposition will never believe that we'd actually play Manning over Medvedev. Then they hit the ice, BAM! Brandon Manning is there in all of his glory. They'll be so confused their heads will explode, we win by default.

How anyone can watch this and not see Coots's potential is beyond me. Plays like this are why I've advocated for him playing in the Schenn (or Toews/Bergeron) position on the PP. Isnt it amazing what not sticking him with two corpses and having some trust in him does for a young player?

i think Manning is struggling mightily, but it's also his first season as a regular. I'd prefer Medvedev, but at the end of the day the whole corps sucks so it doesn't really matter. I'm fine seeing if Manning can be more than AHL player. Dude has put in his time to get a shot.

(that's me convincing myself everything is ok before I go to bed).
