Without Brown we don't get past Chicago two years ago, he was the best player on the ice for game 7. Hard to say how 2012 would have gone, but he was huge in the first three series as well.
Brown is an interesting player, he's not the best guy on the ice, but I don't think LA has two cups without him. - bluecoconuts
God damn that game 7!
Still wish we had more than 9 forwards for that series, u guys rolled 4 lines and it took its toll. |

In order to attempt and get Brown back on track. Someone needs to sit him down. And go over simplifying his game. And let him know he doesnt have to try so hard. He doesnt have to try and play like a superstar. Just needs to play a hard nosed game. He doesnt have to skate every puck into the offensive zone to only lose it because he stick handles like crap and cant stay on his skates. He needs to slow down. Ive loved Brown for as long as I can remember. But hes playing like someone you dont want on your team. - poisondhearts37
THIS! I remember last season Sutter saying they wanted Brown to be the front-net presence guy on the top line and then a few games later, Lewis started seeing shifts on the top line. I said it then and it's valid today: Brown needs to embrace that role and give up the puck as soon as he gets it! Go to the net and let a shot deflect off of you, scrap for a rebound, but he doesn't like that game, that area of the ice and I don't blame him, but then again I'm not an NHL power forward either. |

Scrapping for those loose pucks infront of the net is where hes def best. Also where he usually scores alot. |

I think the Kings moving brown would be a huge mistake. Stick with what works. He is at best a third line player, and his no business being on the top line, but that doesn't mean trade away your Captain. I don't think its that easy. Especially when you are playing as well as we have been. DB was a big part of the cup winning nucleus, and I really think should retire with the team. He seems to get called out more then anyone else, especially when everyone looks the other way when Kopitar goes through that slump every year.. Some players dont show up until playoff time. That is when we need brown. - Deadmau55
Honestly seeing what Mersch can do I think can easily replace brown at some point.
Brown for phaneuf and bring up Mersch. |

Bringing in Phaneuf and his cap hit hurts about as bad as Brown. Thought I think Phaneuf is far more useful and impactful. We need the money. |

Yeah I would want the cap room a lot more, but yeah my point was as you said to at least spend the money in areas the Kings need instead of on a 3rd line guy who doesn't provide much if any offense. 🤑 |

Maybe he'll get pulled over for Speeding, or get caught Jaywalking and the Kings can terminate his contract... |
