Except for the beginning of the second and the big push after the odd timing of the goalie yank... this effort was pretty disappointing.

At least they made it interesting, but that was a tough one to watch. |

Pretty sure it will be. The Canucks aren't even threatening to generate something. - CubanBuffet

Hamhuis is looking terrible lately.
The guy used to always make such a simple & smart play.

Really hope we don't re-sign him.
Definitely time to move one. |

Hamhuis is not here next season.
I see JB making a TDL deal or sooner if we r outta the playiff race somehow.
Only thing holding up a sooner trade which I'd prefer is our D depth.
Vrbata could go sooner |

Babcock will last maybe 2 or 3 seasons before they fire him. That team is going nowhere fast and it's exposing Babcock as a coach who lucked into having one of the top 3 D-men of all-time for so many years and two elite centers who could score at will. How he's doing in Toronto is how I expected him to go, up a creek, no paddle and no map or compass to guide him. - DariusKnight

So far what I have seen this year is the old are getting older and the young are providing entertainment. There are mistakes but in time the best thing to do is keep exporting the aged players and bring in the new.
I heard something on the radio yesterday that I have been mentioning for about two years. It talked about when a player is in his prime. Before it was 27-32 now it is 22-27. Drafted players are much more NHL ready than they were seven years ago. |

Hurt or not the speed of the game is passing Hamhuis by. It's time.
That was by far our worst effort at home this season. We had zero answer to PIT's awesome possession game and you would be hard pressed to find 10 min of solid hockey by the Nucks last night. But that's life. Kids are entertaining but there will be mistakes and the age of our older core really showed last night.
This 7 game road trip should be welcome. |

Bae would have been the better choice yesterday . Pens are a fast team not gritty. No on was hitting last night. It was one of the worst games of the year so far. |

It's how first game back, cut him some slack. He is still the most dependable safe LD that we have.
Trade him, resign him.
Rinse and repeat.
Who is going to take his minutes? Sbisa? Bartkoski? Maybe someone from the farm in a couple years.
Trade Weber, bring in the tree for next year. |

He's no longer safe or dependable, that's the problem. He's old and injury prone and his foot speed is at the point where he's barely able to be positionally sound to defend players faster than he is. He still makes good plays, but every dog has had their day and he's had his, time to move on. |

Exactly. Like many I have appreciated what Hammer has done here but it's plainly obvious it's time. I'm not worried about his replacement at all because what Hamhuis basically brings right now we can get for 1/4 the cost. Once JB clears Hammer's salary off the books they will have options anyway. |
