Exactly. Like many I have appreciated what Hammer has done here but it's plainly obvious it's time. I'm not worried about his replacement at all because what Hamhuis basically brings right now we can get for 1/4 the cost. Once JB clears Hammer's salary off the books they will have options anyway.
- LordHumungous

I would agree. He would be a great pick up for someone at the trade deadline. I haven't been able to see a canucks game in a while and watched last nights game. Hammer and Edler both look like they are tired of playing in the West with all the big forwards. Playing soft, time to ship them off for picks, not prospects though. Banning isn't doing very well with picking up other teams players.

The only promises I've ever got from this franchise are broken ones; they keep putting guys like Higgins out there and the team instantly sucks and there's absolutely no chemistry out there…as you witnessed last night.

This management team is garbage and I don't see how they can expect to compete in the future.

My Nucker rant for the day

I hope so.

We have 2 more 19 year olds. The team does look much faster then previous years. I don't see much wrong with the team other then some weak links. Hansen was showing great speed and burrows looked good on the cycle. All of the "kids" are looking strong. I didn't find much wrong with how the team played last night. Just didn't convert their chances. Would be nice to have a young top end defensemen and an actual high skilled sniper.

There was no rush to get Higgins back into the lineup, a couple more practices would have helped a little with the rust

lol, I don't even know which is our second line... Whichever line McCann is on?

and the missed calls, really shouldn't call them missed, refs see them and decide not to blow the whistle as the zebras decide to ignore penalties, it becomes more and more like wrestling...

Damn the national broadcasts are painful to listen to

I swear, and this isn't a playful rant, the younger they get, the better they get. Youth breeds success, speed and excitement, yes you need vets but for God's sake get rid of Higgins ------ PLEASE!!!!

Surely someone would take him for a bag of pucks? Even if we ate 500k for a season or two, it would be worth it to keep the youth in the lineup.

Did you hear the commentary? They went on a little Higgins rant about not knowing what you are getting, either the invisible player or guy making big plays and battling.

fwiw, I think Sportsnet and nhl commentators in general receive talking points on what topics to hit. what is trending, and what they want to trend.

many on here wanted Higgins gone before he got hurt. I want the youth in the lineup.

For me its either the ot goal on Vernon or the stick to skate to stick goal on Boston.

The Churla elbow I'll never forget either

I have no problem with a few vets around. I'm sure it helps in the locker room and what not. But do they really need to sit better players for them.

Whatever tune you're thinking of it wasn't mine. I became a Canuck fan (watching from the east coast) during the '94 playoffs. Other than Lemieux, Bure was the most exciting player I've ever seen up to that point. I'm a big fan.

Hurt or not the speed of the game is passing Hamhuis by. It's time.

That was by far our worst effort at home this season. We had zero answer to PIT's awesome possession game and you would be hard pressed to find 10 min of solid hockey by the Nucks last night. But that's life. Kids are entertaining but there will be mistakes and the age of our older core really showed last night.

This 7 game road trip should be welcome.

- LordHumungous

Can't wait until we play Montreal.... they've got some really fast guys who can score... let's see how we match up with the co-favourite to win the cup according to the oddsmakers...

I noticed Carl Neill has better numbers then all but one of your defenders and Tate Olsons are better as well. Why are they "ewwww" and your guys are good?

Also what d man got undressed last night from the leafs? That may have been the worst I've ever seen a d man play a 2 on 1. And I'm including tyke hockey in that comment
