Whatever tune you're thinking of it wasn't mine. I became a Canuck fan (watching from the east coast) during the '94 playoffs. Other than Lemieux, Bure was the most exciting player I've ever seen up to that point. I'm a big fan.

I think you should re read what I quoted

Can't wait until we play Montreal.... they've got some really fast guys who can score... let's see how we match up with the co-favourite to win the cup according to the oddsmakers...
- kaptaan

We already beat them 5-1, where the hell were you, probably watching Murdoch Mysteries.

Did you hear the commentary? They went on a little Higgins rant about not knowing what you are getting, either the invisible player or guy making big plays and battling.

fwiw, I think Sportsnet and nhl commentators in general receive talking points on what topics to hit. what is trending, and what they want to trend.

many on here wanted Higgins gone before he got hurt. I want the youth in the lineup.

Now I'm thinking about the most exciting players I've seen. Off the top of my head I'm thinking...

1. Lafleur
2. Mario
3. Bure
4. Hasek (maybe)
5. OV

Sure I'm missing a whole bunch.

yeah, but i think they were ripe for a beating since they'd already won 9 straight or something like that...

now they are hungry again.

I noticed Carl Neill has better numbers then all but one of your defenders and Tate Olsons are better as well. Why are they "ewwww" and your guys are good?

Also what d man got undressed last night from the leafs? That may have been the worst I've ever seen a d man play a 2 on 1. And I'm including tyke hockey in that comment

- Bieksa#3

Didn't say ours were good. Just offered the numbers, like the other chap. Thought it would be good to chat about the pros and cons of certain draft picks.

Could've been any of them
Phaneuf
Reilly
Gardiner
Hunwick
Marincin
Polak.

They're your options.

Exactly

This was the reason the game was not enjoyable.

I was looking forward to seeing Crosby, listening to how great he is at every opportunity kind of spoiled it.

It was a strange game to watch. Cole was prominent for the Pens, and Cullen seemed to take a lot of face offs.

But really with the national broadcasts, I expect the announcers and panel to be more neutral but it sure came across that the focus was on the Pens or at least Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang, MAF.

I can understand if these guys are more familiar with the Pens because they are in the east, but I have been finding it more and more, since Sportsnet stopped with their own Pacific desk, the regional coverage continues to take a nose dive. One of the other channels like City or other Rogers local channel should get another Sportspage going for more local content. Even TH2Nite is aired and replayed without the final scores for pacific time zone games... ahh it`s too late here, we`re going to bed...

Hard to beat a hungry team especially a team with an elite superstar like Dale Weise.

Not the most exciting player, but watching Lidstrom play live was mesmerizing to me. He just made the game look so easy

exactly why the CBC deserved to lose the NHL broadcasts. hopefully the idiots running the NHL programming at Rogers realize Montreal is the most popular team across the country and with ratings to back it up. then the monopoly of toronto broadcaster idiots will be broken...

i recall Don Taylor on the 1040 started going on about how the Leafs were a really good young team he enjoyed watching... just as he realized Rogers was gonna take over the NHL broadcasts and he wanted a spot on the national team... i felt like barfing after hearing him say all that crap... lost all respect for him right then.

They want to win now, not rely on futures...

it'd need to be Hammer, Hansen and Weber.

Exciting players?

how about Savard, Yzerman, Forsberg, Perreault, Coffey (most exciting to watch out of the Oilers teams), Kovalev, Mogilny, the Russian five man unit (detroit), and a russian to be named later.

Precisely.

And this past Monday we had Habs/Sens and Van/Phi but yet SN nationally broadcast the Queens/Cocks game. Boggles the f**ckin mind. Here you have an original 6 team playing...
