Not the most exciting player, but watching Lidstrom play live was mesmerizing to me. He just made the game look so easy - WhiteLie
I was thinking more of the get off your seat and say "holy (frank), did you see that?!" type of excitement.
Lots of better examples of more skilled players like gretzky, Lidstrom, etc. like you mentioned. |

Lidstrom was solid, but not exciting... you're right about that. - kaptaan
I finally got to see him live when he was in his last season or two, so not his best, but I found myself following him around more than I expected |

Yeah thats why I prefaced my comment with not the most exciting. I didnt go to many games when I was younger and the ones I did I don't have many memories of excitement/greatness. He was the first guy I thought of when thinking of a player that captivated me when watching live
EDIT: Revealing my age a bit, but on TV was always excited to see what Thrashers-era Kovalchuk would do, also loved Gaborik from his Wild days. The types of goals they scored had that Bure flare that I grew up on |

I find it mind-bottling that McCann is our leading goal scorer; yet WD still has him playing with plugs and rarely gives him a sniff on the PP
Yet, we are subjected to watching the Sedin's burn a minute and half on the PP passing the puck around the perimeter. - PetrolSexual
And the time he puts him on to get a goal for the team, he gets an assist. |

see, those young feckers are not following WD`s directions. Same reason why Sven sits, assists don`t count. |

Doesn't have to be live to experience the excitement. Only time I ever saw Bure live was when he was with FLA. But it's his time with Vancouver that was incredible to watch, even on TV. Dad and I would just look at each other and think WTF? when Bure did his thing. He had a mean streak too which made him even more enjoyable to watch. (frank)ing treasure. |

I've watched that puck drop video with Will 5 times since last night. It was a great opening ceremony and Will was just beaming the whole time, great for a 15 yr old kid. |

Agree, but as I mentioned above, I liked the meaness in some of Bure's game that the other two were/are missing (IMO). |
