This year is kinda going to plan for me.

They really need a high pick to get a game changing offensive talent. They really need to figure out whether Couturier and Laughton are the go forward centers behind G. They need to figure out the right mix of wingers. They need to maximize their draft picks for next year. And they need to see growth in the young prospects.

And most importantly, they need to resolve some of their bad contracts one way or another.

Anyone who questioned the hire of Hakstool looks like an utter fool.

Absolutely.

Sucks watching but always thought next year was year they start moving forward. If they can get another first rounder at TDL and move some money I think next year we see the plan forming.
Also I don't think there can be a goalie controversy if your under 500.

Wish I knew, but I suspect the answer will be patience and an eye on the longer-term future than just this season and next.

The future can't be advanced as long as there is the deadwood on the NHL roster that we currently have. The lack of scoring is simply incomprehensible.

Not expecting a miracle worker. I do expect competence. Dressing the corpse of Lecavalier and sitting Gagner when this team couldn't score in a whorehouse with a fist full of hundreds is idiocy.

Manning had to play last night with Medvedev in Philly. Vinny should not have been in the lineup over Gagner, but that was the first time all season he's played with only one injured forward, and Hakstol quickly realized he'd made a mistake and only gave him 4 minutes of ice time.

Can vinny ask to be released if only getting 4 minutes a night and being a healthy scratch. Maybe he finally tires of it.

I was happy with the fresh approach Hextall took w/Hakstol. I'm a little concerned with his lineup selections. Bill points out Vinny, but what they hell is he and Manning doing on the PP. Manning can't even stay on his skates. Hopefully Hak stays true to his words, makes adjustments and holds players accountable.

Organizationally the team has a ways to go, I've been to some Phantoms games this year and have been disappointed by the play I've seen. Leier and at times Cousins were the only forwards that were noticeable. Ghost the only dman. Morin did not look strong. Maybe I caught a flat game but this could be a longer rebuild that what all fans were antcipating, meaning Giroux's and Voracek's prime years could be wasted.

And Edmonton radio guy apparently tweeted about seeing Hexy and Hak arguing after the Oilers game, but I couldn't find the tweet yesterday.

They're lucky they're out in Western Canada. These bullpoop efforts are getting awfully close to somebody tossing their jersey on the ice.

I need to see a legimate adjustment of some kind. Not swapping guys in and out of the press box. Get someone from the Phantoms up here and give them a chance or get to work on the phones and start seeing who is available and who would make sense to target.

What happened to Sanheim? How bad is the injury? Wow 6 games in a row is disappointing. I just don't get why we can't score aside from the fact most shots don't make it to the net. I thought Simmonds had a strong 3rd period and it made me think that this deadline he may be a hot commodity for teams to ask about adding for playoff push/depth.
