Let's hope the coach can realize this. - 3flyerkids
I'm really hoping that the reason they've kept Vinny in the lineup is so that they can say to him that we've given you both respect and every chance in the book this season to get a fair shot to play. They are going nowhere this season, so if this leads to Vinny retiring this spring and getting off their cap, it's worth it.

personal issues, fainting on the bench, falling on the ice, too many men penalties.....this team is a mess - vejim
Dude... you have to get over this Mason thing. He's a human being just like you and I. His chosen profession happens to be professional sports. Personal problems go along with being, you know... a person. |

And Edmonton radio guy apparently tweeted about seeing Hexy and Hak arguing after the Oilers game, but I couldn't find the tweet yesterday. - Feanor

Cool. Some good material for briere's meddling 101 course. Holmer and him were observing outside the locker room. |

Nothing is worth having that 2 toed sloth from a fixed cup team around this organization, he has been involved in screwing this team since 2004, first as a member of the Lightning and now as Flyer, talk about sabatoge |

We already covered this. Hakstol wanted a large soda, and Hexy wanted to give him a small and offered to get him another small if he wanted more when he was finished. It went nuclear quickly. |

If a playoff team loses their starting goalie for playoffs do you make Mason available? Just curious what players at TDL people make available. For me my list is: streit, schenn, schenn, Simmonds, read, Schultz, Mason. |

Not saying it didn't happen, but based on both of their personalities, I don't see Hextall and Hakstol having a heated exchange in a public place. |

I hope you are right. It makes sense, now only if Vinny and his fist full of dollars can realize it is time to hang me up.

I think it was more like:
Hex: I flew all the way to (frank)ing Edmonton to watch this crap fest??
Hak: Welcome to my world, bumhole. You stuck me with these (frank)ers.
Hex: Don't make me go Kent Nilsson on your ass!!
Hak: Why don't you go out and sign Kent Nilsson?? He can't be any worse than big french oaf you keep making me dress!!

I would like to move at least one of them now to allow cap room to bring up some younger players. You would have to think Hextall will make a move before the trade deadline

Bill,
Thanks for the detailed summary as always. Wasn't able to watch the game - thankfully.

Why Mason? - KGBflyers10
Having a legit #1 starting goalie just isn't the Flyers' way. We'll be fine as soon as we find the next Leighton/Boucher combo. Who needs stability in net, anyway? |

So almost 60% of their attempts on net were thwarted.... |

Many months ago during the Berube debate, I questioned the cultures of losing and Berube poisoning young players with his lineups and perhaps the "vibe" in the locker room- think I had some back & forth with JSAQ on this.
A year later, I question this again, and to an extent the coaches decisions.
Many times teams come out of the gate enthused, fresh and with real zip in their step and doing things right. This lasted a few weeks.
VLC and Manning, PUKE....
We call up a guy with wheels- has he dressed yet? How did the Flames beat the Flyers... with a guy named Johnny Hockey who is undersized and fast and the resultant bounce off a body on a rush. The guy called up may not have all the skills , but in a speed game, speed kills sloth...
Yeah I am questioning the coach, his ability to motivate and prepare players at the NHL level, his lineup choices etc. If this guy is so much more a thinking mans game and responsibility coach than Berube, shouldnt there be better results.
Hextall and the whole organization should open the doors, let people in first come for free and have unlimited free Yuengling for this load of poop they are putting out as an NHL team
Not letting Giroux or Voracheck off the hook either
Essentially this team has unacceptable performance on the following salaries/cap hits
Giroux
Voracheck
LeCavalier
Umberger
McDonald ( even with the 950K cap hit credit)
Add in the lack of performance from other players and half the cap is spent on zero performance versus expectations.
If that locker room wasnt poisoned last year, I think it will be this year.
Oh great they played 2 good periods against a team as bad as they are and got a consolation point in the loss... - Steelmanpa
The same issues of slow starts and inconsistent efforts has existed now under at least 3 coaches, Laviolette, Berube, and now Hakstol. I know what that says to me. Playing Chris Conner is not the equivalent of Johnny Gaudreau in the lineup. |
