I think they need to move Eichel up to Line 1 and put ROR on the wing. Then take Gio and put him on line 3 and move Larsson to center. Either McGinn or Gio will have to shift to the left. |

Using @war_on_ice's numbers, the Sabres are the only team this season with no players with a negative scoring chance differential at 5-on-5.
Ian Ott @IanSabresPR 3h3 hours ago
Mark Pysyk (+46) has the 5th-best 5-on-5 scoring chance +/- in the NHL. Zemgus Girgensons (+42) ranks 7th and Jake McCabe (+39) ranks 13th. |

4th line does not matter IMO due to how the coach uses them
could be deslaurers, ellis, and kaleta and perform just as well as what he uses it for
eichel and ror are clearly the best players and the skunk is the best feeder
put them together |

I have no comeback for this. I can't possibly understand how any of that would confuse you |

Right but on a good team your 4th line usually has a bit more skill than that bunch, helps the keep up if they're ever matched up with a line that isn't the 4th for the other team. |

With MFE why do you need the other lines? and does it make it ridiculously unfair if you don't pull the goalie when he is on the ice? |

This graph also illustrates that the Sabres are playing great hockey, and just no getting lucky around the net

Yep, goes back to homie's post in the last blog.
This team needs a finisher. Ideally one who isn't totally inept defensively but can't really be picky now can we |

I think we have them, but either they are squeezing the sticks a bit too tight or they are just plain unlucky. |

Im not entirely sure of that. none of the wingers we have really strike me as "sniper" material.
It will eventually start going in for them but i think to get into that good/lucky quadrant we'll need one more. |

Hopefully someone like Larsson or Foligno ups their stock so we can use them as viable pieces in a trade. I'd like to keep Ennis, but he seems the "best" candidate we have to move for an area of need. |
