WHY? When has willy done this to them? There last scratches at the beginning of the season were not because of mistakes and they are making mistakes and in the line up.... this is funny.

Just a frustrated crack, that's all. I'm usually not a Willie slammer. Just hated seeing the sloppiness from the veterans.
Bullpoop. McCann and Jake make mistakes and keep getting games. This crap about the coach being hard on the kids is ridiculous. WD is rotating Cracknel and Sven... he doesnt want to take Jake's physical play out of the lie up... when was the last time he got scratched? I really don't see where people are accusing the coach of having a hair trigger on he and McCann... the other way round actually....

Just have to look at their 3rd period ice times to see where this criticism of WD comes from. How is it that McCann, the teams leading goal scorer doesn't get any PP time

Afternoon games are much more common in the East. - LeftCoaster
You guys were talking about afternoon games being common in the east, what I can't understand about Sportsnet is upon completion of the game, it goes to some Blue Jay's special 1/2 hour show (rerun) already in progress, instead of going into any sort of post game show. Wondering how many viewers drop off immediately seeing that rerun and how many new viewers were waiting for the game to end to see the Blue Jay's stuff?
Would be curious to see how many Leaf games end and following the 3 stars announcement, go right into something like that...

Blue Jays rerun probably gets more viewers than an early sabers-nucks game.

It just doesn't make sense to me.
The games often go over 2.5 hrs, why not have a post game that covers the balance to make it 3 hrs of hockey programming?
Hockeycentral has disappeared on Sportsnet. Often on TSN they air TH2Nite at midnight, preceded by 2 hours of Sportcentre repeats, on every channel.
Not much consideration in programming decision, from either of the big sports networks, given to people in the pacific time zone and Canuck fans. I often get annoyed with team1040 but if they could simulcast a Canucks post game show with one of the tsn# cable channels, I think they would do better than they are doing now for ratings...

I agree n that they should have some post game coverage, I had to go to the Nucks website to get post game comments.

But you get what I am saying right? The Canuck broadcast goes into that Blue Jay's rerun and you have to ask yourself, does the network keep, gain or lose viewers by joining a BJ's rerun already in progress instead of filling about 10mins of post game analysis?
If the BJ's rerun or BJ content would get more viewers, why run the Canuck game? Why not let City or CBC show the game if that is the case or air it at all?
Absolutely agreed on the non-existent postgame show. Not sure we wanted to dwell on the loss, but it would have been nice to at least hear from Miller. He had some choice words for Ben Kuzma about the winning goal, which we'll now only see in print...
I think the Sedins' fear of 3-on-3 is what caused the breakdown that led to that winning goal.
I've just put up a postgame blog with those thoughts and some others...
