i have a buddy that was tight with Miller and attended the cat walk for charity thing every year. he said Kassian was a mess and made a fool of himself and got booted from the event.

Like I said, wasn't a dig at you or the info you get, I just think kids can get unfairly labeled.

That does not shock me, the Habs like Canucks and Sabres are finding out.

Read an interview once with a Nashville player that was forced into rehab and he said 99% percent of the locker rooms has one or two players that people never realize how bad their lifestyles are.

i admit to being excited when he made the team that first camp but hindsight shows what an absolute mess that whole saga was.

its kinda crazy the standard that these kids are held to in a game that was carried on the backs of smoking, drinking, long haired, moustache wearing, carousing, awesome characters who played without helmets.

i mean good lord- an 18 year old instant millionaire (almost anyway) says and does some ill advised things and suddenly he done. i know- way more $$$ and pressure now and these guys know their stuff but damn...

Crazy or not, but those standards do exist, even if they are enforced a lot more stringently than in the past, whether you, I, or anyone else likes it or not. It's now the price you pay for making a more than comfortable living playing a game, and still a relatively small one at that.

They really do need to start calling everything. Teams will realize they can't play the clutch and grab style anymore and that will open up a lot of space for the skilled guys. The problem is the NHL doesn't think the low scoring is an issue. They seem to not care about fixing it

Bettman has had his head in the sand for years now. It's like they banked all the good will about how the game was played after the season long lockout, got a better deal the next time, and have been going with that ever since.

You see obstruction and interference multiple times in every game, every night, and it often occurs more than once in a single shift.

I would have to think it's Silfverberg as a prime area of focus. He just got taken off Kesler's line and dropped to the 3rd with Horcoff and Cogliano.

They couldn't play him in the AHL. That was the problem. He either had to be in Jr or on the NHL roster. As soon as he was eligible for the AHL, that's where they sent him.
