Either J. Staal or Victor Rask depending on the day.
Typically it's been Rask of late - BINGO!

i think we should move crosby down to the 3rd line and move ferh up. let him pout it out on the 3rd for a bit and see what happens. not even sure what he's pouting about....either he doesnt like the coach or that scoring is down in the NHL or the system. what ever it is......he should either ride the 3rd line for a bit or the pine line.
you like that..."pine line"....the bench....bench is made of pine........
im so awesome

Faulk and Hanafin are "studs." Not getting either of them. Hainsey is someone that might be available around the deadline. Pens getting E Staal is only happening if Dupuis goes on LTIR permanently which doesn't sound like it is happening. |

And then Carolina eats cap... or we ship out Kunitz or Scuds...
Hell, (frank) it... lets have Dupes get hurt (temporarily)... Trade Scuds and our 2020 and 2021 1st round picks (we have those still, right?) and take Staal with some cap retained.

Canes are overloaded on young Defensemen right now. Faulk, Hanifin, Fleury, Murphy, Pesce, Slavin, McKeown... Canes could, in theory, dress an entire D-corps under the age of 24 that's about on par with what they have right now with Wisniewski hurt. |

Yes, but you guys are apparently trading us Staal... with our near zero cap space |

Oh look, the team least likely to be able to acquire Eric Staal is suddenly rumoured to be interested in acquiring Eric Staal. - BINGO!
I literally cant even on this one
Sure we need a first line LW. How the hell does anything else make sense? |

I don't get it. Also, you have almost nothing that the Canes would want.

Wait... wait... you want me to make sense of EK's rumors... or how the minds of GMs work when making bad trades?

so horny on third line? also horny demoted but dupuis still there - martox
wow...I cant blame them. Horny is struggling and Bennett deserves a chance at RW top 6. I'd like to see Sprong get a chance someday as well.
Thats a heck of a bottom 6 if Sid's line clicks.
(lines this morning)
Dupuis-Crosby-Bennett
Perron-Malkin-Kessel
Kunitz-Bonino-Hornqvist
Fehr-Cullen-Sprong/Plotnikov

Nothing about what Ron Francis has done so far suggests that E.Staal is going anywhere unless the Canes get the highest price possible. Penguins just can't offer that.
EDIT: Hell, he got a PPG Defensive prospect and a 1st round pick for Andrej Sekera. |

Dont forget to add Canes mgmt hating Rutherford...
This is just dumb to waste time talking about....at least with Kessel it was unlikely, but it made sense |

Canes Management doesn't hate Jim Rutherford... why would they? That makes no sense. The guy was just on a feature they had on Ron Francis talking about him the other day.
Peter Karmanos is kind of a Richard, but the two worked together for 30+ years. Nobody hates JR. |

Rutherford nixed a trade for either Semin or Skinner last second in order to acquire Kessel. Pretty sure the Fitzgerald plan was to get Oshie in a package involving Kunitz/Sutter and then grab Semin with salary retained for pucks. When we got Kessel, we abandoned the other two trades causing Francis to buy out Semin with no takers for him. Then Karmanos embarrassed himself publicly basically calling Rutherford a dumb ass for trading for Kessel. If those two still had a working relationship, I'd be thoroughly surprised. |

I can see it maybe with Semin, but Karmanos himself took responsibility for Semin's contract.
I highly, highly doubt Ron Franis has any sort of grudge against Jim Rutherford. Let's not be dumb. |

I doubt Ron Francis has anything against Rutherford. Karmanos on the other hand, I could definitely see being upset with him. NSH ownership still won't allow transactions with PHI due to the Weber offer sheet. |

Oh yeah this is a Karmanos thing, not a Francis thing. Maybe since Rutherford and Karmanos had all that history together it's water under the bridge and Karmanos just got emotional and frustrated after a seemingly done deal out on the Semin contract was denied to him but what he said about Rutherford and Kessel after this whole debacle was ridiculous, completey unwarranted, and kind of classless which makes you wonder how badly the relationship was strained. Like why would the owner of Carolina feel the need to voice his opinion on a trade that didn't directly concern his team? Makes you think. |

Seriously as it gotten so bad that Hurricane fans are coming here to debunk mythical trade rumors that everyone knows will never happen? I get there isn't much to get excited about in Carolina during hockey season but don't come here and bring us down to your level. |

Can we please give it a rest with the Pouliot non sense? The guy isn't even playing good hockey consistently in the AHL, he is not the answer to solving the problems in the NHL right now, if anything he makes matters worse. Let the kid have some time to learn how to play actual hockey then we can start discussing him being the almighty savior of the Pens 2015-2016 season. |
