good read. I have no sour grapes over "settling" for Eichel, but I truly feel that if you win the lottery one year, the best you can do the following is say 3rd….or 5th….and then you slot up one space every draft until you're eligible for first again... |

point taken, seedy...but, I think the nhl may have gotten it right by having a lottery for the first three picks...good thing they didn't do it last year |

I'm on the fence with respect to Wowie as a HoF'er. Lots of points, but lots of games and I suspect a lot of "-" as well, in a period of wide open hockey. He certainly was never regarded as a top pairing Dman while in Buffalo.
I think it is longevity that is his best attribute.
But maybe it is just me. |

fwiw, I did a 40th anniversary team in '10 and I had him on the second-pairing with bill hajt--pure offense and pure defense |

yup:
during the mid-seventies "slapshot" nhl, schoenfeld had to deal with the likes of the big, bad bruins featuring carol vadnais, wayne cashman and terry o'reilly as well as the broadstreet bullies featuring fly-boys dave schultz, bob kelly and don saleski...he had that monumental task while blocking shots, clearing the front of the net and defending his 1971 folksie music release, schony...
mike ramsey may be the most underrated sabre of all-time...an integral part of the u.s.a.'s 1980 "miracle" team, he relished his role as a top-notch defensive-defenseman in both the olympics and the pros...and boy could he block shots, completely giving up his body shift-in, shift-out...he was a four-time all-star and was selected for the '87 rendez-vous team vs. the soviet union

IMO Rex looks like a fool making IKE a Captain for Thursday nights game, he just has to have controversy. |

I never really read the label on the album and always thought Chill's avatar was a photo of young Jim Morrison |

Thanks, Michael. I've always loved that album, all the way back to two summers ago, when I found it at an Elmwood Ave street fair. The phrase "where have you been all my life" crossed my mind at that moment.
I also have "The Key is Love". Fun fact: Jim is wearing the same white turtle neck on the back of Schony and the front of KiL. He must've loved that thing.

Young Schony could pass for a red-headed Lizard King. |
