Keith has 8 more years on that deal. He'll be 40(ish) when it's over (depends on his birthday and I'm too lazy to look). But, it wouldn't entirely surprise me to see him still playing at a relatively high level then considering how much of a fitness freak he is. So while it seems like a crazy deal, there really is a very strong possibility he plays the whole thing out.

Last year's team probably would have gotten schooled by ECHL teams on a nightly basis. This team is definitely NHL caliber. It feels so good to watch game again.

This report comes after the Elliotte Friedman from Hockey Night in Canada stated that his name was getting thrown around in trade options. Marleau has a no-trade clause and is in the second year of a three-year 20 million dollar contract. He is 36 years of age but would still make a nice addition to a team making a push at the playoffs. Would the Sharks really trade him to a division rival though? It seems unlikely.
