I think it's funny how people were ready to say the rebuild failed and how Tim Murray needed to be fired after that Montreal game. What a difference 2 weeks makes. - HonkFortheGoose
I agree. After sucking for so long , some think we should be contenders overnight. |

To be fair, the original post/offer was simmonds and laughton for reinhart and a pick. - Sabresfan-365
Yeah, I checked over there and found that, not the other trade proposal mentioned. I'd like to see where Reinhart fits here before even the mere mention of trading him. I'm not interested in moving him though, I think ultimately he fits into our top 6 just fine. |

Watched the game last night. Eichel, Risto, Ennis, McGinn and Foligno really stood to me. RoR was good to. But the others really shined as I watched. Foligno looked really good. |

I just think it's more likely that Reinhart is dealt as part of a package rather than for a package if that makes sense |

To be honest any deal with the flyers doesn't make sense.
Kane and Simmonds are much too similar to comprehend a trade including him. Unless we really think he would fit in our lineup better than Reinhart in the future, which I just don't see as the case.
I don't think we're trading anyone. Unless the ship sinks, or we are looking like we can make a push later in the season. |

On the Flyers thread theyre making deals for Samson. They are convinced we will take a 38 year old defenseman, a 3rd liner and and draft choice for him. lol...fans - Ripped Fuel

I'm just not sold on the concept of moving him. Not yet anyway. I don't think we need to. Let's see how the season progresses with him. The more likely trade we make will involve a goalie or a LD, if anything. |

If they wanted Reinhart, it starts with Voracek. (Even that is risky, he has a huge contract)
You don't trade #2 overall picks for "A package of meh" |

Neither am I but if an opportunity to a acquire a #1LD presents itself you have to think his name will be in the conversation. |

Gudas and Simmonds for Foligno, Gorges, Larsson, Ruhwedel and a second
flyers get 3 young bodies (two top 9 players, a young 5/6 d man, a decent pick and a vet d man
we get a second pair d man and a second line winger
IMO if the flyers want a shake up with upside in return it gets the conversation started

I just don't see a good fit for a trade with us and Philly. |

I don't see us being front runners in the Yandle sweep stakes...and I'm gunna go ahead and file Byfuglien in the not happening category.
Our LD will more than likely have to come via trade or from within the organization. |

Eichel's best play last night isn't actually getting much discussion, I think because it didn't result in a goal.
It was the one where he carried the puck across the blue line in front of the rest of the team, drove the defender back to create space, treaded water for a bit just on the offensive side of the blue line while everybody else rushed passed him toward the net, and then cycled past the defender who was afraid to challenge him and shoveled a little saucey pass/shot toward the front of the net and dinged it off the outside of the post.
There was so much talent in that play, and the room the defender gave him just smelled of fear. It's going to be crazy watching this kid.

It'll cost Ennis. Bob Murray has wanted Ennis for a few years now. I would prefer to keep Ennis at this point. I really like that Eichel-Ennis-McGinn line. Sign a LD next summer, we'll have the cap space. |

pass
skunk is not an asset to move to the flyers
aside from Ekman-Larsson, not many players I would move the skunk for in a deal |

Murray knows he has a hole on LD and I think he'll be aggressive in free agency to get that guy. Yandle, Russell could be had. |

but Russell is by no means a top pairing guy, and let's be honest here, how much of an overpayment would we need to provide to get yandle interested in coming here? at that point you'd want to walk away from that deal.
This years 1st rounder + could get us a younger/cost controlled top pair (or close to top pair) d-man.
