I get the logic behind but sometimes I want my dumb hockey back where you get excited about winning in face-offs and hits in a period and were more worried about getting back the momentum of the game

Our former goalie coach killed those days. So did soccer but that's an entirely different problem

Does cut out the false hope yes. Tough for fans to deal with while watching but grand scheme of things it does help your team build with more success (i.e leafs, probably sabres)

Gudas and Simmonds for Foligno, Gorges, Larsson, Ruhwedel and a second

flyers get 3 young bodies (two top 9 players, a young 5/6 d man, a decent pick and a vet d man

we get a second pair d man and a second line winger

IMO if the flyers want a shake up with upside in return it gets the conversation started

- homiedclown

What in the hell is this? Are you even a Sabres fan?

Gudas is a bottom pairing defenseman with little to no skill whatsoever. He gets abused worse than Weber and Franson.

Simmonds is a decent player but less of what we need.

Larsson is severely under rated, because points.

And we're adding Foligno, Gorges a prospect and pick? Just gross.

It is annoying. I completely agree.

A bad posession player is not allowed to have a good game without it being an anomaly

I'm kind of worried Reinhart will never be very good. I don't think he will be a bust, just doesn't look like he is providing much at this point.

Usually with young players, the talent is evident, but the mistakes or immaturity is what holds them back.

Reinhart just kind of doesn't do a whole lot.

Again, not saying he's a bust, would just be surprised if he is more than a 2nd line player for us down the road

Hes already very good,... hes just not flashy about it. Hes not going to blow by guys and dangle around them for highlight reel goals like Eichel is doing. Unfortunately for him, you wont find the plays that hes making as a 20 year old rookie on the highlight reels. Body positioning, stick positioning, skating lines, breakout outlets and passing. He looks like a 10 year vet out there. But I guess youre not taking pride in those things.

Bylsma being conservative with him with his minutes. He deserves more. I hope by January/February Bylsma starts giving him the Gionta minutes.

Meh. Weird transfer. No option to buy. No incentive to give big minutes too. Plus hes not as good as what we are playing.

I love watching them again, and I get most games on Fox Sports in HD so added bonus this year.

thats what I don't get about some of this analytics stuff, end of the day you can craft it to be very subjective to the authors own agenda.

The same metrics that label the Avs Bad and Lucky, you could argue that they are actually very unlucky with the fact that when matt duchene is on the ice, the team was shooting 1.5 shooting percentage. Is that bad or unlucky. those numbers are now starting to correct themselves and the team is shooting much better with him on the ice.

I can never take it as gospel, but its always interesting to see the data presented

- DDM-Coga

Also, it has Montreal in the slightly bad and lucky category.....with 59 goals for (#1) and 29 against (#3), then are the complete opposite of even slightly bad

I've been planning to go to a game or two in Germany, I'd love to see them. If it's anything like my trip to celtic park I'll be on cloud 9

Definitely have to see Leverkusen though. Calhanoglu is just too filthy

He isn't very good though. Not yet at least. I also know what kind of player he is.

10 year vet? The kid has 2 goals in 24 games. What 2nd overall veteran produces like that ?

I know one player that didn't score a goal till the 25th game and now the best player in the game ...

honestly think you're overreacting now

I'm not calling the kid a bust, or anywhere close to it. I think he's going to be pretty good.

He is very good though. Hes making plays that veterans Moulson, Gionta, Foligno, McGinn don't make on a consistent basis. And we have a former 2nd overall veteran that produces like that on our team. Mr Breakaway David Legwand.

As for the points argument, hes put up points when hes played with better players. And hes been great when hes playing with ROR, Eichel, or Larsso . Hes also had his hand in several goals where he doesn't show up on the scoresheet -- The Ennis goal early in the year against TB I think it was, several PP goals screening the goalie.

He's not getting on the scoresheet as much as you or I would like to see, but hes easily been one of our best forwards. Im not worried about him busting at all.

His decision making is excellent, and he does not hesitate with the puck. That I agree is like a veteran. I just don't see a guy who's gonna top 55-60 points. Which is fine, and like it said I'm not calling the kid a bust, I just expect a little more out of a 2nd overall pick.

I think reinhart plays a good team first style. Always goes strong to the net, never neglects his duties on the forecheck or backcheck. Lets his teamates drive the play. The kid Knows how to play and might not ever have the speed to be flashy but he was a safe pick. Only been a handful of games to judge him off of. Probably too soon for this but i appreciate that you are trying to keep the conversation going though!
