445-337 right now in HBSL.
9 in double digits, 3 in the 20s - stashu
It was pretty close during the week, but I pulled away today. It's 461-370 and I still have Kane, Panarin, Gaudreau and Kevin Hayes tomorrow. 16 in double digits so far with Gaudreau a possible to make it 17 tomorrow, and 8 with at least 33 points. I should stay the only undefeated team in my division unless something really crazy happens, and unless Zuccarello really outscores Kevin Hayes I should maintain my points lead. |

RIP Girgs. - rmiethaner
He did get smoked. Glad he's back. He's now on pace for under 10 pts on the year though. Doesn't look like he could score on an empty net if given the chance this year.

The next 5 games on the schedule are brutal: Stars, Blues, Stars, Blues, Preds.
How many point do we realistically expect the team to get in the next 5 games? I am thinking 4 would be extremely optimistic at this point. Should be a huge test for this young team. As long as they look competitive during this stretch, I'll be happy. |

So based on the favorite and hated vote we did yesterday, not a lot of votes for players from the 70's and 80's so Khymelev suggested we do a top 5 favorite players from the 70's and 80's. I know we have a lot of guys/gals here in their 20's that might not know enough about that era in Sabres history but give it a try. Call your dad, grandpa, whoever lol.
Mine
1. Perreault
2. Martin
3. Gare
4. Foligno
5. Ramsey |

Why is Gionta on the PP - SABRES 89[/quote
At game last night, said the same thing about Gionta's ice time! OT starts and he starts the 3 on 3? I still think the coaching staff is trying to figure this aspect of the game out (missing Kane doesn't help).
Overall love this coaching staff, much improved! |

So many great players to choose from in those years. There's also Craig Ramsay, Andreychuk, Housley, Edwards, Sauve, Fogolin, Hajt, Korab, Lorentz, Luce, Mckegney, Seiling. |

I'm mostly as 80's kid so mine list reflects that. Thanks for doing this again!
1) Housley
2) Foligno
3) Perreault (glad I was old enough to see him live)
4) Tucker - Rock-em Sabres year ('87) was great
5) J. Cloutier - what list is complete without Cloutier?!?

My double digits were just for last night, not the week.
I have 63 points just from Lundqvist.
Only 3 of my guys are single digits
475-337, my opponent has Gaudreau only today, and I have him plus 6 others. |

Good topic MHP!
there are a few on this board who had the pleasure to watch the team in its' early years...they were so fun to watch and the city loved that team beyond belief. They could skate like the wind, score, and had bruising Dmen...Those years remind me a lot of today's rebuild years...I really enjoy watching this team grow together, and having the fan base re-energized is awesome.

So I have 3 sons who are really into the Sabres as well...we are thinking of each getting Eichel jerseys ... And while I still want that, I can't help myself also craving a ROR jersey ... He is freakin awesome, and reminds me of Drury quite a bit...love, love, love him. Glad Gringo sounds like he is turning the corner...but just like when we traded for a patty Lafontain, I do that trade 100 out of 50 times! |

You can definitely make comparisons to some of those early years in the 70's before the cup finals in '75 and the re-build of today. We have our Korab in Risto, our Desjardins in Lenner, our Martin in EKane, our Perreault in Eichel, and so on.
There wasn't alot to root for in this town in the 70's. Inflation, job layoffs at the steel plants, heavy industry shutting down, the beginning of population loss. But what we had were the Sabres and the french connection to dazzle us on a nightly basis and forget about things. |

It was tough for me to narrow it to 5 favorites. Peca and Mogilny were great Sabres. It was difficult to leave them off my list. Especially Mogilny

Hey guys, all kidding aside, the Sabres are looking good, I'm not too upset about how the Leafs are playing despite the poopty roster...but all I can say is I watched the Oilers last night and their as bad still as when Hall was a rookie. |
