Wow, it's amazing how everyone forgets how brutal it was watching AMAC last season.

This fanbases memory is so short it's laughable.

Manning deserves more than 10-15 games to show what he has, in a regular role. AMAC has already proven to be nothing more than a detriment on both teams he's played on. The contract is the WORST IN THE LEAGUE. It's really not even close with that kind of term, for a guy who, at best, is a #7 dman.

Manning might be able to turn into a 3rd pairing dman, who you can count on to play simple hockey for 15 mins a night. Amac couldn't even do that.

Schultz, and Gudas, have been incredibly bad so far this year with the eye test.

Medvedev probably has the most tools than anyone else, however needs time to adjust, hopefully this scratching is short lived, and he replaces schultz or gudas when he comes back.

I honestly dont really like the idea of tanking or whatever.

If they do truly suck ass this year though, so be it. Get that top level offensive guy in here so the worry about Giroux/Voracek's age related decline isn't such a focal point.

MacDonald was better last season, in a more difficult role, than Manning has been this season. Not sure why Manning deserves more than 10-15 games when he's been exceptionally bad in a sheltered role.

I'm sorry, but Nick Schultz is (frank)ing awful. Yeah yeah, high opposition, hard minutes, blah blah blah. Guess what? That doesn't matter, he's (frank)ing worthless. He got some short-sighted universal praise last season for not being (frank)ing horrible compared to the rest of our defense and that warrants a 2-year $2.5M per extension. The dude (frank)ing SUCKS. He's like a worse, slower, more afraid of the puck version of Sean O'Donnell who is a jack of no trades master of being below adequate.

The right handed Alt is definitely worth giving a shot over Manning.

I think the reason the scratches have stayed among Lecavalier, Gagner & Schenn(now) and have not extended to guys like Raffl, VandeVelde or Bellemare is that the first group of players are not very good two way players.

Raffl despite his scoring woes, is still a very solid two way forward. I think that give the choice, the coach would rather keep a guy who can fill in and be good on the PK

Well sir, not because I'm picking on you but if this is the logic, why doesn't Wayne Simmonds it? Simmonds is without question favourite guy but he's brought very little. In a situation you just suggested, Gagner has got to sit.

Also, while I respect and understand this logic, it doesn't mean Raffl should be attached to the hip to G and Jake. It's not that good.

Because since Couturier came back Simmonds has been playing good hockey. He will never be great at evens, but he looks like his normal self lately.

And clearly Raffl is not attached to the hip. We get the Schenn LW1 experiment in futility again.
