This Sam Bennett argument is laughable and borderline ludacris. The kid is good, he's not anywhere near Malkin good. In Malkin's age 19/20 year in the league, his rookie year he put up 85 points. Sam Bennett might sniff 60 points this year. In Malkin's 2nd and 3rd years in the league he eclipsed the 100 point marker both years. If Sam Bennett ever comes close to those numbers I will certainly eat my words, in fact if ANY current Calgary Flame comes close to anything Malkin has done I will eat my words.

Nobody reached the 100 point plateau last year so comparing what Malkin did in his rookie year to Bennett's is erroneous. Also, we are not trading for a 19 year old Evgeni Malkin, we are trading for a 29 year old Malkin making 9.5 million dollars. So yeah, it probably is safe to assume that 10 years from now Bennett will be the more productive player.

And since you asked, Jiri Hudler had more points than Malkin last year, and Monahan had more goals so

If they deal 1, meaning 1 of Malkin or Crosby, my thinking is they mine as well deal both in separate deals and completely overhaul this team, while ridding themselves of ridiculous contracts if at all costs! And while we're at it, the guy who started this piece, what on earth? We're talking about Malkin right? Not Kunitz! He's mentioning 31 yr old Shattenkirk, Marleau, Brent Burns, good grief! If you make a deal for one of the 3 best players on the planet, to include both Crosby and Malkin, you get younger and cheaper! There are a few teams that line up with the Pens with such trades, Calgary,Colorado, and Edmonton.

My 2 cents:
To Colorado - Crosby, Kunitz, Bennett, Pouliot, Scuderi
To Pittsburgh - Duchene, Landeskog, Barrie

To Calgary - Malkin, Dupuis, Letang, 1st
To Pittsburgh - Monahan, Gaudreau, Brodie

Fantasy land, but nonetheless! You Calgary fans that think Malkin isn't fetchin Bennett, oh boy, need a dose of reality!

First, Shattenkirk doesn't turn 27 till Jan. 29th. Kinda way off there, but not nearly as far off as you trade proposals. Seems you, sir, are the one in need of a reality check.

Crosby for Duchesne Landeskog and tyson Barrie Makes sense to me. Sid needs a new home.

Well, it's simple....the only way the Penguins without depth and tones of cash tied into 2 players can be successful is if the convince another team to tear a massive chunk of their depth away and tie up a bunch of money in a player they can't surround with depth, duh?

Because the Avs suck. I thought it was pretty obvious.

All three of these teams suck, and you will find them in the bottom of the Western Conference standings, Edmonton, Calgary, and Colorado. It's not as obvious to their fans apparently!

Why would they want Crosby or Malkin . . .

I'd doubt it.

As great as he is, he's not landing you two premium defenders and first line winger that are all 25 and under

Not bad. Anyway to structure the deal with Backes instead of Lehtera?
- YouMeAndDupuis9

You would have to involve Steen or Backes instead of Lehtera plus Shattenkirk just to get anywhere near balancing out the Malkin cap hit. Why would the Pens want Backes on an expiring contract? The Blues are pretty much right to the cap, they aren't in a position to go after a Malkin without completely retooling the team. Why would they do that after such a good start?

I didn't know he could only keep his job if he won the Cup every year.

Sometimes, teams have a hangover the next year, but I guess Pitt was immune and it was all Bylsmas fault.

My Sabres outshot your team 145-17 last time, you barely won the game and we had a Goalie from a YMCA in Sweden. Coached by Byslma.

We are thrilled to have him.

We have larger expectations that most, especially those in Buffalo. Looking for a moral victory because you outshot Pittsburgh? That is funny./ Thought winning was the thing that is important.

Whenever you get into a competitive mode and have talent to win a Cup and fail every year, absent one, you will learn that he has flaws.

Makes zero sense from a Colorado perspective. Those who know values of players agree.

In all the proposals, another thing to remember is that the team getting the better player wins 9/10 times. Also, Malkin is extremely valuable to an owner as well. Jersey sales will boom and ticket sales will rise.

But dude Flames fans played NHL 16 dynasty mode and scored 300 goals with Bennett this season and he jumped to a 99 overall? Don't you understand?

MALKIN HAS BEEN 10 TIMES BETTER THAN CROSBY IF SOMEONE IS GETTING TRADED ITS SID FOR COMPLAINING TO THE REFS AND SCREAMING AT OTHER PLAYERS INSTEAD OF JUST WORRYING ABOUT PLAYING HARD AND SCORING.
