My biggest gripe with Coots is his unwillingness to shoot the puck. And, when he does shoot, it's way off target. Other than that, I don't have a problem with him.
In addition, if he's timid in the shooting department, then why is he still on the PP? I understand that the team wishes to see his offensive production increase, however if the guy doesn't contribute to the PP, then why have him still playing there?

It's so obvious. It's a deliberate attempt. He picks his heel up and thrusts (albeit inconspicuously) toward the puck. It's so obvious. He was even looking at the puck if I remember correctly. That was so calculated

The kick part, I understood.

It was the part where Quick knocked it into his net that I had me looking askance.

I understand the call, on the whole, I just wish the part where Quick knocked it in would have been clarified better.

I was trying to come up with a name last night to describe my dislike for Lucic that wasn't a curse word. I'm stealing this, thanks!

As I have stolen it myself, you may steal it in turn.

he's timid

I personally believe that's his biggest issue. When he's attacking the net and shows a willingness to shoot-first, the speed stuff becomes inconsequential. He's got such good balance and body-control in tight and a long reach... he could definitely leverage that for a lot more offensive production. He's not gonna be a guy who goes end-to-end and beats the goalie w/ a 40-foot wrister like Jeff Carter. He's got to be more Mike Richards, hang around the net, and play power hockey.

Agreed. Still some confidence issues offensively. 13 shots in 12 games is not good enough.

I don't know you instill that. I really don't. He so clearly needs to shoot more, it's painful to think about

Couturier doesn't have a history of shot numbers this low (1.75 SPG before this season), so I wouldn't get worked up over the numbers from 12 games, one of which he left at the end of the first period courtesy of Rinaldo.

coots isn't physical enough for me. when they play the pens he is, not so much anyone else.

I sat couple rows behind kings bench last night and was chirping Lucic whole time. Wish I could share my video of him acknowledging me

That' a good point, but there are a lot of situations where a player doesn't have a history of something, such as Voracek struggling to put up points. Still a valid criticism to this point.

Medvedev: I haven't played because I re-injured my head

Hexy an hour later: Medvedev is fine. He doesn't understand English.

There are some guys who play for other teams for whom I have tons of respect and admiration and would love to see play for the Flyers one day.

Lucic is not one of those guys.

They seemed to manage fine against Chicago after honoring Timonen. Last night's game was also there for the taking and was well-played. Even in the Buffalo game after honoring Briere, the Flyers managed to get a point despite not playing well.

Last year, they played pretty well but had a narrow regulation loss to Minnesota on Lindros-LeClair HOF night and lost in a shootout after a so-so performance against Buffalo on Desjardins HOF night. They lost 3-1 to Tampa on Peter Forsberg night.

Overall, that's 1-2-3 over the last two years on "player night" games. We'll see how they do on Brind'Amour & Watson HOF nights.

they gotta get it done on brind'amour night... he's possibly my favorite flyer of all time

I love it. The part he doesn't understand is when he was told not to discuss injuries with the press.

Just watched the highlights and Ghost's reaction after his goal was awesome, really hope he hangs around. With what he's shown so far, if we're giving Manning a chance to figure it out, Ghost deserves one too.

Schenn goal, ehh. Not intentional kicking motion but kicking motion nonetheless.

How does Jake not lift the puck in the SO?!?!? Come on man! (Chris Berman voice)
