Might be able to package Vey/SHink/Hammer and or picks, hate to give up picks, but Hamonic would be a huge scoop.
- neem55

I don't think Shink would do well on the 4 th line anyways

Apparently they arent interested in picks, Friedman says they are going after equal value which I think might be more challenging for Van to put together.

Losing Hamonic leaves a big hole on D for a team looking to pass the first round in the playoffs, which likely means looking at a Tanev or Hutton replacement for "equal value". That being said, they could look at Hamhuis to replace the D position and offer high value players to balance. I am hoping the latter

In terms of age and cap hit it's fair... in terms of talent... not so much.

would love to keep both Canucks need more size on the back end

Over valuing this guy, I know I'm just looking at stats, but I am sick of intangibles.

I was joking. I think it would have to be Tanev Shink Sven. You know Coilers are going to be offering Eberle plus

He is that good, he is a top two Dman something we sorely need

I would take a strong run at him, its just hard to identify the Islander's needs. They have a solid team and quite a few good prospects in their system already. Maybe a goalie of the future? But I am not sure I dangle Demko unless I have massive faith in Markstrom being a true #1

Isles want a d-man back. unless edmonton can get a third team involved they won't get him.

Calgary and the Jets have enough depth on D to get him.

i think the Canucks will be sitting on the sidelines for this one unless they decide to cough up Tanev.... which seems like a lateral move to me

I see Sbisa is Canucks fans newest favourite player.

This brings me to the next question how bad is the rest of the team for this to happen

I would start there and build a deal around that for sure. It would be nice having a D-core of consistent of 25 year olds Hamonic, Tanev, and Sbisa, with 22 year old Hutton. Getting offense from the back end would be tough but should be good defensively

IKR, Nucker left because Sbisa wasnt getting enough ice time. Fire the coach.

I would prefer that. We already get very little help from the back end. It is our defensive deficiencies that cause our 3rd period collapses. Our forwards have been good at getting a lead early.

I'm sorry…that's not funny but I laughed at the last part. I'm thinking of feeding my wife's cat a couple smashed up Tylenol in it's food.

Seriously though, we're looking into getting a Bulldog.

Why not get a breed that doesnt suffer most of it's life? They have a problem breathing and the list of complications that comes with the breed starts early. There's a movement in the breeding world to reverse the characteristics that became the standard that are responsible for the collapsed nasal passages,,,, screwed up hips etc... you will be digging in your pockets for vet bills more than most other breeds.

I have a few friends with them, although their health issues are well known, not every dog is like that. One is five, one is seven and one is six months, all in good health and I just really like their temperament.

Most large breads have health issues.
