I have a few friends with them, although their health issues are well known, not every dog is like that. One is five, one is seven and one is six months, all in good health and I just really like their temperament.

Seriously,,, the breed is famous for it's suffering. More and more breeders consider the breed itself as cruelty to animals and are gaining more and more Kennel clubs who want reshape the inhumane requirements for the breed to be registered...

Our English setter possibly saved my life from one before I was old enough to walk. She intercepted a charging bulldog when i was crawling around on the lawn... my mother broke up the dog fight and after washing all the blood of ours,,,, couldnt find any cuts... bulldog took the bites I guess...

I intercepted my room mates American Bulldog in my living room as it tried to attack a guest's 6 year old. Different breed... I know.

They may not be known to attack but if your friends bull dogs are something you are basing the choice on... I thought I'd share the experiences I've had with Bulldogs. Just trying to help.
