Gve Sbisa credit for answering the call for the hit on Ehlers. Yes it was a clean hit but he stood up to Peluso regardless of getting pounded. At least he didn't chicken shat run away like Kassian did from Gadzic - LordHumungous
No, i think JB signed him for that sort of mentality, but seeing it at playout, I wish there was a different answer, ya respect Sbisa for hanging in there, just the pounding...
(Not sure why I replied no, except to be difficult.) |

"I would not be too upset about trading Tanev, but hope he could be kept out of any deal.
If you're Garth snow, perhaps you could be convinced to go all in and make a real push for the cup this year...add some talent up front as well as D.
Hamonic for Edler, Higgens and Shink.
This gives NYI a Top 4 Dman for this season and beyond, a versatile 2nd-4th liner in Higgens, who is good on the boards and the PK and another blue chipper to keep in the minors for the future or use as a further trade chip.
Van get's a young/tough cornerstone Dman they require and also free up a roster spot for youth." dbot

No way is Hamonic worth that much. Edler for Hamonic or Tanev for Hamonic should be fine in terms of a fair deal. Hamonic hasn't exactly lit up the league, but yes, he does still have a little bit of upside. He's only had one decent season thus far, and that was last year. How many times have we seen a player regress after having a decent year previously? (which looks to be the case with Hamonic this year) That said, I would take a chance on him, given he is still only 25. But again, not if it means overpayment - Zogg
All due respect, but Higgins is, as you guys put it last night, where offense goes to die and edler isn’t play like a top pairing or even top four guy on a contender, plus he’s older, more expensive and has brain cramps more often than my ex had cramps.
That’s two crappy pieces for arguably the islanders best all around defenseman, on a long term deal with a ridiculously low cap hit and no restrictions on trades in his contract. You’re gonna have to do a LOT better than edler and Higgins.

I think Canucks could get a deal done Tanev Hansen for Hamonic. Waits to hear how Hansen has transformed into Patrick Kane 2.0 |

Hamonic would be our best dman and we really need an anchor. I think our D is in the bottom five in the league. Take away the twins and we are a last place team, sorry but too many weak spots. Vrbata is taking another one of those years off, lol Hamhuis has become very average and when 44 eats up that much ice we are in huge trouble. He was a healthy scratch most of last year for the Bruins. Hopefully we can get it going Saturday night. Sorry for the rant but losing is not in my vocabulary. |

You sure like to play headgames, lol I would be all over this one last year but Hansen is clearly one of the top three forwards this year on our team. I hope we can land Travis as he would be our top dman and a future anchorman, something we do not have anything remotely close at the moment. |

Honestly, given that Hamonic would like to go to western Canada and that there’s a limited number of teams I could understand a tanev for hamonic swap although I’d consider that lesser value for the Isles, but still a very solid defenseman with comparable cap hit and age/term. I don’t know if I would expect more than that to come back given the situation, maybe a 3rd or 4th rounder.
I don’t see snow taking edler, and a bit part forward isn’t going to help us as we still will need to find a way to get strome back up from his kick in the ass ahl stint shortly.
Ideally, I would love to see trouba for hamonic but I don’t know that the jets would want to move him

The reality is Hansen is still really a third liner. The fact that he is Canucks best player is more a statement of how bad the team is this year. Same as Higgins is not a second liner. The personnel needs to change and get proper players playing proper positions |

I would have to say that the Canucks have two top D men who are more available to be traded than say Calgary's top pairing, or Winnipeg's Top Pairing. If Snow NEEDS a top pairing defenseman in return, it's Klefbom or nothing from EDM as I think Nurse is untouchable at this point. I don't see Vancouver being the least possible, I would have to say they have a good change. Better than Calgary or EDM anyway. - Codes1087
Winnipeg is where he3's from if im not mistaken. And they have a ton of young talent to aquire him. I'd say they are the favourites to land him. |

Higgens is not an offensive powerhouse. This is true.
He is, as mentioned a solid player that can play up and down lines 2-4.
He is good on the boards, solid pk'er, can chip in 15 goals no problem.
He is signed to a reasonable 2.5 m this season and next and would be a solid addition to a team going on a playoff run.
Edler is not a top pairing Dman, no. He would be better suited on the 2nd D pairing, slotted in next to De Hann or Boychuck. Looking at your 2nd PP lineup, he could fit in their in place of Bailey or Zidlicky.
Shinkaruk has top 6 written all over him, if given time to develop in the A. He could be steal in this deal.
I don't think its a terrible deal for the Islanders, especially when comparing to what other teams could offer and in light of the fact that he requested to be moved. |

Anybody know the deal on if a player is claimed on waivers and whether he has to be on the roster? Corrado has finished his conditioning stint now and I understand the TML can't find a roster spot for him. |
