Agreed!
The fact that we just played 2 of the best teams in the league and hung in there with them through most of both games, tells you all you need to know.
Watching hockey in Buffalo is fun again. I'm a happy girl. - HonkFortheGoose
I was holding my breath in both games against the Stars and the Blues simply wondering as you had mentioned, "if we could hang with those types of teams".
This Sabres team has proven to me at least , that they can.
Really all I can ask for as fan at this point, especially after the last two seasons.
I am more than pleased with this teams progress thus far. |

Not for a conditioning stint. He can be there for a maximum of 2 weeks or 6 games I believe it was. |

The main issue I see with this team thus far, is secondary scoring. They're not getting any. Some of that may be due to the fact that while the defense isn't playing poorly, our transition game isn't exactly spectacular. If they can figure that out and get better outlet passes more consistently, we may see some more guys getting on the board each night. |

If that's the case I would do it. Let him play a few games. |

When is this garbage of putting Gionta and Georges out there for meaningful minuets going to stop? |

Speaking of which. We thought last years team was bad, im pretty sure the amerks have something like 3 goals in their last 4 games. |

I thought so too at first. He definitely took a swing at a rebound, but unfortunately, the replay looks like he whiffed on it and it went in anyway. |

Takeaway from last night
ROR - this dude is ALL that is advertised..he is a beast
Eichel - he's Eichel..carry on
Ennis - forcing it..needs a game in the press box
Defense looked shaky last night...Ikn he looked slow but Colio is holding is own and proving to be a solid 7th Dman
Ullmark - gonna make it hard on GMTM to figure out the goalie situation
Overall we are trending up..just gotta start dialing in the specifics of our game |

Ullmark definitely made the inital stop, but the puck never really stopped moving and it trickled it's way across the line. Just wish he'd been able to secure that skate to the post. |

I think the emergence of Ullmark may allow them to leave Lehner on IR a bit longer. Maybe try and get his conditioning back up to where it needs to be. I wouldn't be shocked to see them actually send Lehner to the A on a conditioning stint. It would probably be good for him and it's not like we're drowning without him right now. - HonkFortheGoose
yeah, to be quite honest, Lehner never really impressed me, watching him play in preseason.
When he does come back, I think you make him earn the starting job by proving he's better than Ullmark....which I'm not convinced of. |

You can't base your opinion of Lehner off of preseason alone. He hadn't played since February. He wasn't able to do ANY kind of physical activity for 3 months. That means 3 months of sitting on the couch. He had said himself his conditioning wasn't up to par. |

yep, said it yesterday.
Yes, he has a ton of heart but he's too slow to react for some of these quick skill guys. I can't believe how many times I've watched them give him a beautiful setup pass, he's infront of the net and just plain fumbles it. |

Yeah, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but that's also why I think HE has to be the one to take the job from Ullmark....shouldn't just be given to him as the #1 when he comes back. |

in the two periods i saw of him this season i didn't not see anything that made me scared of his play.. when he saw the puck he was making the saves and he made them easily |

i have no issue with them calling that a goal. he didn't take multiple swipes at it. if he hit it twice it was by accident not because he was taking a second swing at the puck |

You ride the "hot hand" IMO, and right now that is Ullmark.
Lehner needs to earn that spot back. |
