Ennis is a turd for doing what he did. A selfish and stupid penalty. Luckily they only scored one on their PP. - SabreWest
Is it a penalty? Yes. But it happens to him pretty frequently as well. It sucks. I hate that it seems we're constantly playing from behind right now. But not much we can do about it.

Agreed. Playing down by 1 early in every game really makes it tough for them - particularly against tier 1 teams like the Stars and Blues.

We could start scoring.
We currently have 2 players on pace for over 20 goals and 1 of them is our 18 year old.
I'm not sure if this teams need is defense at all at this point. Most of them look competent

I feel like in the last week and a half they got away from dictating the play and are letting the other team dictate it much more. With that change, we've also seen the amount of goals we were scoring decline a bit. Not sure if it's just the way I see it, but it seems to be a trend.
That said, this is a team that is still really trying to find their way, especially when you take into account that the whole team hasn't been fully healthy for even 1 game yet.
I'm not trying to complain or be a negative nelly or anything, because the games are so much more enjoyable to watch, but you can see that there's still some work that needs to be done. Whether it's in just getting the guys we have going somehow or if another player or two needs to be brought in.

It's worth noting the quality of teams they're playing against.

They got nothing offensively out of that period. ROR had the best chance. Ennis is a dumb dumb. - mhp
Ennis has been getting points, but I haven't been a big fan of his game yet this year. He needs to just settle down and follow the flow of the game instead of trying to force things right now.

It's one of those weird ones where if the guy doesn't lose his balance nobody would think of it as remotely dirty. There are so many dangerous hits where players line up someone in the numbers and it doesn't get called. The Ennis hit was a penalty but I didn't see the intent at a dirty hit

For sure. That definitely has something to do with it. That said, I sound like a total whiner even though they'd gotten points in 4 straight prior to Tuesdays game.

These are the struggles that come with wanting your team to win again

Defensemen often push the play. A good offensive guy with good skating could help the forwards out a lot. Lots of chances going to waste on poor zone exits.

Yeah, like 365 said look at the teams we got those points against. Philly twice, SJ, Florida, Vancouver. Now it swings the other way with Dallas twice, the Blues twice and the Preds twice. Pretty much the 3 best teams in the league so far 6 times in 11 days.

Yea it was a comment on Twitter, or maybe even on the Jets thread that said Dreger mentioned it. - sbroads24
I mentioned 2 weeks ago that he Ducks still had interest in Ennis, a few days ago I mentioned the Sabres had some interest in Trevor Daley, 2 days later EK mentions he's on the block.
