Love O'Reilly but that shootout attempt was horrible. Maybe eichel takes his place next time. Ennis and Kane both had the goalie beat, just missed it.
Would have loved to.see reinhart out there with eichel at the end of 3 on 3. If he was, pretty sure we get two points. I get the veteran loyalty thing but the use of or Gionta is unexplainable. - turbo044
Good game.
Reinhart on 3on3 is interesting. Great skill and hockey sense, but not terribly mobile. That's a lot of open ice for a more pedestrian guy. |

Some people are never happy and complain just because they don't know what else to do. They're the same people that would complain if it took us 7 games to win in a Cup series instead of 6. - HonkFortheGoose
I hear ya. Will always be those people ha. |

From the 5 on 3 to chances in OT to the shootout. More times than not we get the win. But I'm happy with this game. Seems more like the team we want |

If only we could somehow discover a way to cut Gionta's PP time in half...... |

I think you're probably on to something. If you look at who they had out there in general during the 3 on 3, it was all the guys that skate really well.
Bogo and Risto got the majority of the time for Defensemen. The only other guy that got some time was Gorges, and it was 1 shift.

The first period wasn't my favorite. I thought they looked like they were letting the Blues dictate the play, which was something they've done a lot over the last week or so. I like that they really pressed them more in the 2nd and 3rd. I think they're a much better team when they're dictating instead of chasing. |

Do the Sabres have home ice advantage? This is critical to my level of outrage. |

The coaching's been great, but that's why the Gionta thing is so hard to understand. |

Only real surprise is that moulson wasn't in shootout. He's probably the best on the team. |

Gionta ice time leader with 21:10 - SABRES 89
Actually, O'Reilly had 25 and Eichel had 22.....
Plus Bogo and Risto had more, but typically defensemen have higher ice time totals. |

People are actually complaining about Byslma??? We are night and day better than last year... Only thing i have a issue with is the obsession with Gionta. He is bad. Get him away from the top 6. Immediately |

So the guy with the filthiest hands on the team doesn't go in the shootout? But mister can't hit the broadside of a barn Kane does? |

I want to see Eichel & Reinhart in the shootout. Keep Ennis out till he gets out of his slump. |

I really don't understand how they're scoring on 24% of their 5 on 4 chances, but can't get one on a 5 on 3. Shouldn't it be easier? - HonkFortheGoose
Yeah, but when you constantly pass to Ennis at the side of the net it's easy for teams to read. And also when he misses by a mile and it goes the length of the ice.

Gionta ice time leader with 21:10 - SABRES 89
I thought ROR had like 25 minutes.
Edit: he did and 5 other guys had more ice time than Gionta including Eichel, so it wasn't just D-men. |

Who else was pissed when Eichel was wide open but Gionta just skated back to the neutral zone with the puck |

Other than failing to pass to Eichel and pulling out of the zone instead, ROR doesn't score the goal without Gionta's pass. |

If it was up to me, the 1st shooter would be Eichel.
I think it's a no brainer. |
