According to James Tanner, Jake Gardiner is just as imortant to winning as Duncan Keith.
Just gonna leave that one alone - sbroads24
He is. It's part of why the Hawks win a lot more than the leafs do. |

This whole harmonic thing screams 3 way trade. Winnipeg parts with what they can afford to let go of to some other team, some other team parts with what they can afford to give to NY, Harmonic goes to winnipeg.
I just feel like Winnipeg isnt going to make a trade "just to be nice." Family problems or not.
I wonder what the family problem is. Like, could NY just let him take time away from the game? I kind of feel like if its shortish term, that might be the most honorable thing to do. |

We certainly didn't loose at this point, and if the Jets move Myers, less than a year after acquiring him, we're the victors. |

Let me rephrase, Gardiner could replace Keith and they wouldn't see much of a drop off |

I just had a peg fan yesterday in the Jets thread telling me how they won the trade in a landslide and Myers was light-years above Bogo.

On the other site that he writes for as a Leaf blogger, he said the he is right at or around a top ten defender in the league.

So is Anton Stralman, Nick Leddy and Jake Muzzin. All good players, none top 10 |

The way i read the stats, it appears gardiner's relative impact is greater but i think that says more about the hawks depth.
As for him being better defensively, there are certainly areas that gardiner seems to be better (not good but better) but since keith was never pegged as a defensive guy it's not that big of a deal. Plus I think to date Keith has the upper hand in almost every statistical category offensively |

Honestly, I know nothing about advanced stats. Just have not taken the time or interest to look into them. Do I think that they are helpful in providing analysis and useful? Sure, I believe that.
With that said, I just posted in the Hot Stove blog with a quote that Tanner wrote about Gardiner with a link to an advanced stat site. I played around with the site, and I have not found anything that shows he is top 10 in anything. |

I dont think gardiner is even the best defenseman on his team. Morgan rielly leads their team in points and is only twenty one years old. Guys gunna have a great career. |

I think comparing the two is moronic.
I like the Myers/Hamonic/Bogosian one that breaks down 3 guys playing a similar role, those IMO can be useful.
Comparing Gardiner and Keith is like comparing apples and a really mediocre defensemen |

Training staff and medical staff are different. - buffalofan19
Indeed, and if it's in fact true that the docs don't have licenses to practice in NYS that's illegal and they can lose whatever license they do have and be thrown in prison.
"Unauthorized Practice of a Profession (Medicine), a Class "E" felony and could face up to four years in jail if convicted."
Unless they use them only for road games or something it's incredibly stupid. But one doc who is one of the Sabres guys a.k.a the guy who saved Richard Zednik's life, Dr. Bisson, shares office space with my ortho, so at least I know one guy has a license in NYS. I've also seen him on the Bills sidelines this year.
They list the names of their medical staff on Sabres.com there are 4 physicians. You can look up where they have licenses for. I'd do it, but my internet is running super slow for some reason. Thanks FiOS! |

Im not buying that at all. First off his friend is a physician of the Bandits...Pegula owns the Bandits. On top of that it's not very difficult to look up who has a license to practice in NYS. This is a bunch of bs if you ask me.
However they might not be confident in those doctors. That's totally plausible.

I agree, confidence is one thing, but they all have licenses. They would be on the hook for so much liability if they didn't.
Plus Dr. Bisson, the guy I was talking about before is top notch, he's also a doc for the Bills, he's got his MD from Johns Hopkins for Christ's sake. I don't care if he literally finished last in his class, they don't let scrubs into that school. He's a professor and chair of Orthopedics at UB. So something's rotten in the state of Denmark here. |
