Is DiPietro still getting paid by the Islanders?

General Fanager shows that his buyout extends to 2018-19. Wow.

But Yashin's off the books!

Will be like us when Bobby LU retires. A contract that keeps on giving.

But DiPietro's contract has no cap hit. Luongo's future situation is much more toxic. We need to keep cheering for him.

Didn't they just stopped paying messier?

Two examples of great canuck captains.

They'd probably only go to Detroit. Maybe Tatartots or Nyquil back? I could go for either

We as Canadiens weren't always like that.

He's living the retirement dream down there. Playing in front of no one and not having to deal with media, shorts and flip flops every day collecting millions a year....he'll play out his contract.

This is one thing i never understood about retaining salary and retiring early. Do we just eat the 800k/yr until the end or does something else happen?

On the bottom 16 teams sure, but he doesn't replace a lot of top guys on good teams.

If the oilers hold on to win tonight, we will only be 5 points out of last place.

Maybe the Nucks will finish 9th in the West and get on track for one of those sweet Maple Leaf style rebuilds...

Sedins and Edler can be their version of the No-Trade 5, We can call it the "Won't Trade 3"

Miss the playoffs a few years and ownership will get antsy and force a big trade for a name player

etc....

Sedins contract is up in 2 years. At least we aren't stuck with that albatross of a contract the Pens have with Crosby.

Boy I never thought I'd say this but Leon Draisaitl is killin it right now and he's looking like the best forward, by a large margin, from his draft class.

I think Linden has convinced Luigi and the boys that the only way to succeed is thru the draft, but, you don't have to finish last for several years in a row win. Sure it can help, with the right selection and some luck, but it's not a guarantee!
