First Tulo now has a no-trade clause, so doesnt really matter.
if they want to be a threat again.. Keep Tulo, and add another pitcher - senstroll
Baseball players have their no trades bought out all the time. But still - keep Tulo and add another pitcher.... actually, make it two and give Chavez back. |

He has to be lucky to be healthy for 2/3s of a season? Bit of an exaggeration there. If he's lucky, he'll play 150. Goins at SS is a huge drop-off, and there's no depth/insurance if Goins or Devo get injured.
They have the cash for Price if they really want him. If they need to free up an extra $7mill, trade Revere and use Pompei/Saunders in left. - 1979AD
Excluding his 1st year he averages 118 games a year. Yikes. His average the last 4 years is even worse. |

Have you checked out Chavez's numbers away from his home pitchers park in Oakland the last couple years?
Expect a high 4 low 5 ERA unless the Jays know how to fix him. |

Exactly, an exaggeration. You said that he needs to be lucky to play more games in a season than his average.
Does that average also not include where he missed an entire season? Excluding when he played a full season and including when he didn't might skew the numbers a little bit too. |

Those are the guys that won't be back... but none really plays a big role anyways.
The Leafs aren't going to completely tear down the team... they're building a lot of the long-term contracts up, so they can support the youth.
If you bring everyone in at once, you'll just wind up with an Edmonton situation. - Feeling Glucky?
It is what I have been saying, you bring the young players up in groups, first group should have been this year, IMO. |

I just took a look on nhl.com
This year (just grabbed random names to get a bit of a range):
Lundqvist .956
Reimer .950
Luongo .944
Schneider .940
Bishop .938
Price .933
Mason .925
If .925 = Mason then it's not all that great maybe lol - daeth
Yeah it's just as dumb as the "pts per 60" stat.
It's designed to make certain players look better than they really are. |

I know I keep saying this, but this year isn't over yet. You will probably get your wish regarding that first group, it'll just be mid-season. |

Honestly, I was scared to look at any Chavez numbers. I don't get this move at all unless TLC knows something everyone else in the world doesn't. |

I didn't say that lol.
I didn't include any season in which he played 0 games and I excluded his first year where he barely played any games. If anything I helped his numbers. |

disagreed- they're still working on the vets. Once those guys are reliable again, you bring up the first group. Might be this year, probably will be next year. |

I'm just guessing that their scouts must see something fixable in him because based on the raw numbers he's really awful. |

Use the NHL stats package:
http://www.nhl.com/stats/...eType=2&aggregate=0&pos=G
Last year, Carey Price was best starter with .942.
.925 would make you about #14 for starters last year. - Atomic Wedgie
Measure from 12/13 to today and sv% ...
Bernier 917%
Reimer 916%
14th and 15th amongst goalies who've started atleast 100 games during that stretch.
Pretty average. |
