I know at least one protester who got what he deserved. Was bragging that he "knew the line" and would do everything he could to annoy officers without being arrested.

Flying fish do not actually fly, they accelerate just under the water's surface, then hold their front fins rigid to generate lift that gets them out of the water, where they ride the higher pressure air near the surface for a while. They can't keep flight going while in the air though, so they're just gliding, not flying.

The vast majority were just regular harmless hippy types. They were surrounded and arrested simply for protesting, then held in poopty conditions for 24 hours without charge.

It's just a shame they didn't try to go further up the chain when they were figuring out who to blame. It had Harper stink written all over it.

I don't know if it was the vast majority. I'm not sure if you live in the Toronto, but I do. I remember there being a general appetite to witness, if not participate in acts of chaos.

I wasn't downtown because I did not want to find myself in trouble I was not looking for, but for the weeks leading up to that conference you could eavesdrop on almost any conversation and there wasn't much being said about peaceful protest.

I'm not trying to sound like a Harper sympathizer, because I'm not one. I just remember the mood in the city before and during. Could have just been the people I happened to be near, but I doubt it.

The mass arrests I'm talking about were made on peaceful protesters. The person responsible for giving the command to arrest them has been found guilty of discreditable conduct.

The police didn't even interfere when people were burning cars and smashing windows. Those types (and there were enough of them) weren't part of the mass arrests I mention.
