Well, on a distinct kicking motion, it doesn't matter if it goes in off a defender. You don't have to kick it directly into the net. If you deliberately kick the puck and it goes in, the goal does not count.

It definitely went off the STL player's skate before Gorges, but I think it was just part of his natural motion on the play. No distinct kicking motion from what I saw.
