he's got too good of a shot to pass that one up, imo - Michael Pachla
I agree. Bad ice or not, it wasn't a perfect pass because it didn't end up on his stick.
A shot would have been a shot. instead, nothing. And not blaming the player for bad ice. It just didn't result in anything.
I feel like at this point, a lack of rebound/dirty goals may be a problem contributing to poor confidence. I see a few passes from below the goal line every game with no one in front of the net too.
And yeah, may be I'm confusing skunk with Kane because Kane/Eichel had a passing play later in the game that one of them missed on. |

taylor's gonna drive us all crazy this year (if he hasn't already)...
o-line has been playing as well as to be expected...on many occasions, taylor hasn't made the proper decisions when the pressure's on - Michael Pachla
his style will lead to injuries
I am amazed they did not have him roll out 15 times to throw the ball
way too conservative play calling and when taylor was off, clearly the first half, they should have adjusted to shorter pass routes
and stop running for 1 yard on every first down
rant kind of over |

If they address the o-line
Stafford would work well, if available - homiedclown
Agreed. I wouldn't touch Kaepernick at all. |

Ek has a rumor on teams looking at a package deal from Winnipeg for Ladd and Byfuglien.
Putting aside that this would never happen from a Buffalo standpoint with Kane being on the team and the friction between him and Byfuglien, is this the kind of trade that Buffalo would need to make to fill out both their top pair D issue and their top 6 forward issue?
Byfuglien is a top pairing D man and Ladd is at least a top 6 LW, if not a top line LW.
Does Buffalo even have enough to make that kind of trade? They are both pending UFA's, which helps, but they could command $12M per season between the two of them.
I maintain that going through the draft one more time, and then attacking free agency either this coming offseason or next is the way to go, but this kind of trade contains the components that they need. |

He's DEFINITELY skating around in circles until he looses the puck. if he's going to hold on to it that long, someone needs to crash the net.

In theory yea (although im not convinced byfuglien is a top pairing guy) but as you mentioned this would never happen for obvious reasons.
It's the kind of trade i bet they'd look into though. They've still got assets but the difference now is it's no longer a surplus. The next big trade has to be a home run (or close to it) to be worthwhile because it will put our farm system in the bottom 5.
Edit: Before someone brings it up yes they could go the free agency route but im not convinced the team has the pull to bring in that level of talent. |

It's Week 10. There's no excuse for that. Plus they had a long week of preparation to boot. |

the sabres need to simplify the offense
just go to the net, and either pass off or take the shot

have had issues with roman's play calling all year...it wasn't until the last few games or so that they've been using play action...
loved that they threw some bombs to stretch out the d, but why did they wait until the second half to that? |

Sure there is, but only if you believe Ladd is a top line LW.
Kane is a 2nd line LW, to me, and Moulson is nothing more than a 3rd line LW. |
