If the Sabres are interested in Cam Fowler I dangle Ennis as part of the trade and Gionta is ready for the scrape pile captain or not. I'm not blaming these two as the only cause of the teams problems. Ennis isn't getting top line minutes and isn't used in the key situations like he was the prior 2 years, same can be said for Girgensons so production is going to suffer. It doesn't help when 3 key acquisitions such as Bogo, Kane and Lehner stay true to form as injury prone players. We've hit the 20 game mark and maybe it's time to get set lines and let chemistry develop, at least give it to the mid season and see how it works out.

It wouldn't work. I like Johansen, but he hasn't been good this year, he was benched because he was out of shape. He had heart issues over the summer, so maybe he couldn't train as hard, but nevertheless. It's disconcerting when you have a player with heart issues and then misses time because at first he was "fatigued" 8 games into the season, and then it's because "he's out of shape". It wouldn't work because, you can't waste Eichel on the wing, O'Reilly while able to play the wing, supposedly hates it, and there just aren't enough minutes to go around, someone is going to get left out and their play will suffer because of it. And no way in hell are we giving up Reinhart AND a potential top 7 pick. Never happen.

I just read about his accelerated heart rate issue. Sounds similar to Pysyk passing out and how they could never find a reason.

Makes sense that he was out of shape if he was dealing with an accelerated heart rate and trying to find out the reason for it.

I totally disagree with you: Johansen is absolutely worth Reinhart and a top 7 pick. His production the past two seasons, and even this down season as you call it when he still nearly a point per game player, have proven that.

So Lehner is re-injured even though he hadn't even come back yet?

What is with all the Cam Fowler love? Yes, he is a good player, but is he a top pairing D? I am far from sold on that.

No, the progress on his recovery is just going to be more toward the 10 week timeframe than the 6 week timeframe.

Good topic on Johnasen cong. My two cents on this is would love to have him but we seem set at center for the future. It appears to me that ROR prefers to be on the dot and you're not moving Eichel away from center either. That's the main reason why Reinhart is on the wing.

I would prefer they trade for 1st line LW. With Kane's injury history, I would prefer they go get a LW. They need a 1st line RW too.
