Losing draisaitl doesn't make us more competitive

Leon and a lottery pick for Faulk?

Jesus people

Faulk is great. Absolutely love to have him, but Jesus

Leon and hall carry this team offensively.
And he's still a child. His potential is through the roof. Like superstar elite centre.
And he has the size and tool set that we have very little of in our skilled positions. As in we don't.
And he's one of our best defensive forwards.
6'3-gonna play at 220. With elite skills. And fantastic defensively.
Marian effin Hossa.

And you want a lottery pick along with him. To be honest, I don't even want the pick. But this shouldn't suggest it's not valuable

That trade is how we get better?

Yeah, no

Ebs and another solid shot at first overall is more than fair for Justin faulk

I've said this before & I'll say it again, whoever trades Draisaitl should be exiled from employment in the whole North of America covering ALL countries & (frank) him he's not welcome down here either!

Time you guys got rid of the players keeping seats warm & started up the next generation of The 2 x D's - Mc & Drai! There's your 2 top C for the next 13 years.

Haha yeah it is something. I know that I whine about the negative Nancy's but wow I think that game last night is going to make me one as well. I just don't get how you can go from being shot for shot with the Caps to being embarrassed by the Canes.

One positive even last night again was Leon continuing to exhibit the incredible player that he is... size, skill and speed, what Hall and Leon have is amazing together... The rest of the team was embarrassing to watch on ice- I can not figure why Nuge Ebs and Pou are such stink thus far... Hopefully they get going and fast...

Jesus. I know I shouldn't laugh and but I can't help it. What's next? Hall slips on ice walking into Rexall and gets concussed? Jesus.

When McDavid comes back you can expect a lot more wins. You won't be drafting 1st overall this year. My leafs on the other hand should be right in the mix for it because at the deadline it will be out with warm bodies and in with picks. The oil will be alot better in the new year and should build on that for next season. I think McDavid is so good he'll put the team on his back. What worries me is that some of the oilers don't seem as pissed about losing as they should be, look at maclellan's face after a bad game, the players should feel like he does. That's what I see from afar. Cheers

It's a nice thought, but clearly you have no idea of how the Oilers operate.

I really agree with this post. Yes, they were 4-8 when McD got hurt, but they competed and they just kept getting better. I think I have had just about enough of Eberle's nonchalance actually...as talented as he is. I sometimes wonder where his heart is (but maybe it's just the way he carries himself, who knows?). The same goes for RNH actually.

Also, I guess it is a function of being so young and literally playing boys vs. men, but it annoys me when there is a scuffle/scrum of players after the whistle and Hall/RNH/Ebs/etc/etc/etc just turn the other cheek and skate away. I think that might be part of the issue for this team as well.

On the flip side, I see the direct opposite from Darnell Nurse. He gets right in there and gets his nose dirty. Nursey will go with you in front of the net just because he doesn't want to give up that extra little inch. I think we could use a few more guys like that with what seems to be a chip on their shoulder.

And mcdavid had peaked at this point. No way he could've helped the squad any further. Neither would a healthy squad done anything to help.

You're so desperate to drive home your troll to people that already know the oilers have serious flaws

It took a little while before McDavid felt comfortable enough to take over the game. He didn't want to show anybody up. But once maclellan gave him the green light he gave us a small sample of what he's capable of. P.C. will start working on the problems and maclellan will have his say too. No playoffs this year though.

I won't argue this team is good. They haven't proven it.

But people were already debating that Connor was our best player by game ten. I didn't fully agree just yet, but considering how good hall was playing and that's he's one of the games elite wingers, that's saying a lot.
What we do know is it ain't gonna be long till there's no debate.

It sucks cause we needed everything to go right outta the gates to start turning it around. But the opposite happened. And now we're in serious trouble.
I do hope that they can shake off that loss last night and stay respectable until Connor comes comes back.
I think we can make some real strides when we're healthy. But yeah, playoffs are out of the question
