Is anyone surprised we are in the box with Minny coming on.... they handed the momentum to Minny... (frank) them.

From what I saw (second half) the 4th line played pretty damn well too!

No doubt... but they decided not to call other calls that were blatant...as always it's when and how they use the whistle. It's so predictable...

Can't wait to have Hutton back and get Weber out.... Weber still makes less mistakes than Bieksa so it's not as bad as it could be.

Don't get me started on this damned waiver thing. The NHL created this loophole by not sticking to the letter of the law.

And thank you Carol for finally mentioning it! I wrote her weeks ago about it and didn't respond or acknowledge or.... ... or ... I gotta go!

No slight intended! The subject has been in the back of my mind for awhile.

I don't really agree that the Leafs are doing anything more egregious than any of the other organizations by keeping Corrado in the press box after picking him up on waivers. The rules are meant to help players find a place to play but I think the situation is equally tough for players that have been developed by their respective organizations.

More injuries would get all these guys into the lineup!

Even if the whole defense corps of Toronto was injured Corrado still wouldn't get in, they'd call up 6 scrubs from the senior beer league team that plays once a month before they'd put in Corrado.

Could be Rask ? I am just guessing

oooh Rask seems good! They've got quite a bit of top picks I'm sure, they've had no shortage of good draft picks.

Also, the raper's point streak is up to 17 games. Has being in trouble again made him better somehow? He slipt to the 3rd round in my pool cause of the court case, so I'm pretty much locked in unless I get some serious injuries.

Tonight was the first full game I was able to watch in a while and mannnnn Bartkowski needs to spend about a month with the skills coach. Holy (frank) does that guy just "lose" the puck more often than not. Great wheels and a sturdy guy but with hands like feet

Good skater. Can carry the puck out... but please don't pass it out of the zone.... or try and set up a play.

He's horribad with the puck. No way around it. Half our D is like that.

As I said I don't know who the scouts are looking at but I can see Canucks having interest in Rask ( RHC ) Hanifn Fluery or Skinner

Players I think Canes would be looking at Tanev Hamhuis ( to see if he can still play) Hansen or Dorsett . They are basically movable players

I'm kind of hoping Burrows and Higgins are on that list too, but it's probably wishful thinking.

Carolina are not a playoff team so it is very doubtful. I think this would be more about permanent fixtures and not rentals

I wish it was predictable. "That's a penalty unless you've already had more than the other team, in which case it's definitely not, but it will be if you do it because they've only had 1 PP and you're up by two, but if you were up be three then it would probably be a penalty again because there is only two minutes left and the game is pretty much out of reach..."

I could give a fck about missed calls, they happen, but I've got a problem with game management. If you can decide to call a penalty based on score or time of game or the balance of PP opportunities or whatever, then what's to prevent personal bias from becoming a factor?

And it clearly is a factor. This isn't my "the refs are out to screw the Canucks" rant, I think that teams get bent over more or less evenly, but you can't tell me that Burrows doesn't get the short end more often then not. He never gets away with anything, he never gets the benefit of the doubt, and he might have more bad calls against him then anyone else in the league. It's a serious strike against having him on your roster.

It's in a market where the League needs the team to do well, so it'll get as many breaks as the refs can give them without actually just calling extra goals for them.

I don't think it goes that deep. It's not some league directive to favour certain teams; it's just simple human nature. I bet you could poll 30 fanbases, and all 30 would say they get screwed more often than not.

I think 2 referee system lacks enough consistent quality.
Too many games n not against certain teams i see head scratchers or penalties called in one game not in others n vice versa.

I've never liked the 2 ref system, the ice is too small as it is and more often then not the officials end up ruining plays by being obstacles on the ice. Not to mention penalties are called by the ref that's far away from the play rather than the one closest to it.
