Seems everyone had a good holiday yesterday. I'm hoping the Sabres can get out of their funk tonight. While the record doesn't look good, they haven't been playing poorly. They hung around in pretty much every one of those games, and to me, that's a bit of a victory itself. That stretch was not easy and had it been last years team, they'd have gotten relatively thumped each night.

Yeah, being 0-4-2 or whatever they have been recently. I'm pretty encouraged by their play against the best teams in the league. We carried the play for very long stretches and aside from an abysmal PK and hitting the post 36 times things could've been different. I know, I know if if if, but they handled themselves well outside of those 3 minutes against Dallas the other night where they scored the 2 quick ones. I like where this team is going. No sane person ever said this was going to be fast, and the playoffs were never on the radar for this year; sure, crazy things happen but they just wanted to be competitive this year, learn how to play to win, get some chemistry with their revamped roster and if they finish just outside the playoffs great, but if they continue to play well but lose a bunch of close games and pick 5th then another top pick won't hurt. It might not help, I'm looking at you Edmonton, but it certainly won't hurt.

It didn't really show up his first year, but you can tell as he's getting bigger and stronger he's throwing his weight around more and winning a lot more puck battles.
