What do you guys think of/the possibility of these hypothetical trades?
Tanev+Higgins for RNH once McDavid is back and healthy(Draisatl is looking to be the real deal as well with 18 in 14 so far)
Vrbata + 4th to Washington for Bowey(retain a little salary of Vrbata to make it work if needed)
and Hammer+3rd or 2nd to Anh for Theodor(only if Anh is in playoff running at TDL)
Long shots, but i see RNH as expendable for a good Defensive D that skates well and has a great first pass. I would hate to lose Tanev but I think he can be expenable if we managed Theo/Bowey in the other trades. - Retinalz
Whatever you smoke I want a crate of it.
Higgins for a seventh
Hamhuis for a second
Vrbata for a third |

They are worth more then that are TDL you undervalue our players, i may over value them a bit, but not as badly as that undervalues them. |

Yes, yes they will and do all the time if it gives them a better chance at the cup this year. Look what Chicago gave up for Vermette, who by the way they ended up not really needing to win the cup. GM's give away young prospects and future stars all the time to try and win a cup. MG did it every year. |

Then I guess we will need to wait and see. I want to see which stupid ass will pay a high price for a 35 year old with 12 goals for three months of rental |

That is about 24 games away. I don't see him scoring 14 in 24 but good luck. |

Rentals at TDL are worth gold. Doesn't hurt as much against the cap as any other time traded, and you don't have to worry about your cap if you don't wish to resign them. Hammer probably already knows Van likely will not resign him, so he will either want to be traded to a team he may want to resign with or retire at the end of the season. My first trade was mostly Tanev for RNH but adding a little extra as RNH is obv worth a bit more than Tanev. I see Higgins as that vet presence that would help in the locker room with them while providing solid 3rd line production. That is worth significantly more than a 7th. |

Thats why i also mention based on if we can work out deals for Theodore/Bowey. I would love a top line of Mcann-RNH-Virt and 2nd Shink-Horvat-Boeser in the future |

Yes but both would be eager to sign a new contract as we have seen what has happened to older players this fall and their contracts will most likely be their last ones.
So if teams will only trade if they re-sign.... i see no issue.

Getting the single point against Big D is good, but we should have won the first game and played well enough to win the second.

What surprises me is that the canucks are a bubble team (thought they'd be well outside), but so is LA and Anahiem. |
