im still trying to process the concept of trading a high first round pick for Riley Nash - Crimsoninja
It's really hard to get past that one, to even begin thinking about a lottery pick for Ryan Ellis. My head would explode. James is the most entertaining blogger on the site. |

Watching yesterday's game, it's evident that the Oilers need more than just McDavid coming back....
They were disorganized and undisciplined.
Aside from Nurse, they played with no heart.
Reminds me of the Leafs pre Phaneuf.
Nobody sticks up for each other.
So many unnecessary penalties.
McLellan has his work cut out for him.
Terrible team to watch.
It's amazing that a team with so much talent can be so bad.

This is what Tanner can't grasp. A great collection of talent doesn't always equal a great team. I would argue last year's Cup winner was not as talented as either the WCF opponent or Final opponent. Yet they had the right mix and when it mattered most, they played disciplined and within their system and were collectively the better unit in both series. |

Let's just calmly go through a couple of things here:
1) The Oilers have lost seven one-goal games. Therefore the Oilers are weak when it counts.
2) They have been screwed out of at least six points by blown calls. Therefore the Oilers don't respond well to adversity.
3) They have not dressed a single game with their ideal lineup so far this year. Therefore the Oilers are much like many other teams.
4) They will have McDavid - who's what, at worst a top 20 player already? - for 40 of their remaining 60 games. Therefore the Oilers will sell out road games?
5) Once McDavid is back, they will be able to run out McDavid, Draisaitl and RNH down the middle. I don't think the NHL is prepared for such a thing. It will be unstoppable. Therefore the Oilers will be pretty dang inexperienced up the middle. - yzermaneely

I was hoping to hear what that Tanner had to say after my Leafs crushed the Oilers the other day. |

Does it embarrass the few Oilers fans that actually know what they're watching to read James write about how great they are? |

ive tried to get through to him. but to no avail.
blogs like his are the "everyone" in the trolls claiming that "everyone always says the oilers are gonna turn the corner."
but its just not true for even close to everyone. especially those that have watched the oilers closely for a long time |
