Let's stay on topic and try and keep a positive view this fine Monday morning. The Sabres won 2 in a row this weekend.

Even during the 0-4-2 stretch, the games were much more entertaining than they were last year.

they had an average team last year...this year they're worse at qb, better at rb, still weak on the ol, strong on dl, meh at lb, and pretty good in the secondary...

add it up and you get an average team

Odd that Samson is sposed to be the hockey set up guy. Has only 3 assists. If he keeps scoring goals I won't be upset.

No, he's out smarting everyone to 35.

I am happy he's been able to finish lately. Most Sabres aren't capable of such a task

This is true, but the reason for his lack of assists is probably the same as Eichel's. Draft/acquire them a finnisher(not typo, pun) or a PMD.

Edit: Normally I'd buy into the "shooting percentage is low, it will eventually normalize either later this year or next" theory but since two of the wingers they regularly see are 32 and 36...

Good write up. Nice to see something a little bit different on here every once and a while.

I'm not too worried about Ennis, he'll rebound.

He was about our only consistent point producer during the past two years of tank.

If he could do it then, he'll make the correction and get going again.

How can you say they're worse at QB?

I keep hearing this from a lot of people but not sure where the reasoning comes from.

Check out his stats: He's #6 in NFL at % completion, tied for #3 in fewest interceptions, # 5 in QB Rating.....sounds to me like he's the best QB we've had in years.

Yeah, we're not going to see 400 yds in the air from him because those aren't the plays he's being given.....I think we all forget this isn't Jim Kelly out there calling his own plays in.

If we miss the playoffs this year, it will be the intangibles and injuries that put the nail in the coffin. Those first 4-5 weeks we had injuries to very key people in McCoy and Watkins..... I bet we could've had two more wins early in the season if it weren't for those few early season games chalk full of penalties.

We are bottom 5 in first downs, lead the league (or did recently) in three and outs, we are bottom 5 in passing yards.

Not to mention how easily teams have adjusted to Taylor mid game. He had 240 yards passing in the first half yesterday and ended under 300
