I feel like this is a holdover from the past CBA, since there is no re-entry waiver anymore. |

I think right now we may need to be. I believe he will start putting up the numbers, but I'm still concerned that he's not showing more dominance offensively |

if you watch the PP goal Kom scored
Kadri digs the puck along the boards with 2 oilers on either side of him to get the puck to the point to Dion..who then slides it to Froese who shoots..redirected by Kom.
that doesnt get you an assist. - senstroll
This is why I didn't want to debate this with you. You are countering me with a "3rd assist" example... really?
Points per 60 minutes of ice.
303rd in the league,
113th among centers (although some guys they call centers doesn't seem right)
12th on the Leafs
10th among leafs forwards
Right now, he produces p/60 at a 4th liner pace. |

Sarcasm noted.
I am supporting my opinion with actual numbers.
You support yours with an example of him getting a 3rd assist... then YOU get sarcastic.
Really?

dont worry about it..its a waste of time. Points will come. A player does not sustain a 3.4sh% over a season..when they are a career 9 or 10% shooter
if he sustains the 3.9 shots per game and shoot 7% (below avg) the rest of the way thats 210 more shots.. he ends up with 17
if he does say 11% thats 26 goals. |

Right now, the entire team is one giant turd in the offensive zone.
Kadri is one hot week away from being among the Leaf points leaders.

But that's kinda the pro-Kadri crowd's point, Aethsie:
You are supporting your opinion with actual numbers.
We are saying that the numbers don't tell the whole story. |

its an example of a players doing something to help create a goal... for someone who fires down stats with all that fury ...you are leaning pretty heavily on a stat to support your argument.

We do for every other player in the league?
That's how you get paid...I'm sure Kadri would like his G/A #'s to be up I bet.
:0)
He's playing ok, I myself don't care about how many shots attempts a guy makes unless he's got a shot like Ovie or Jamie Benn...those guys can shoot it right through a goalie...Kadri is not that type of player, he's more of a little banger and crasher similiar to Komarov. IMO

Let me take your argument one step further: I'm concerned when I see some players' shot totals get too high. It's an indication they are "Jason Blaking it" - taking easy shots from the perimeter instead of getting dirty to get real scoring opportunities.

I know, but you get what it means...you can't just send a healthy guy who's playing down to the minors on a conditioning stint without a good reason. If he has to go on waivers and they use the stint...it's up to the league what sort of penalty we face.
Isn't it penalty enough just having him in our net? |

Let's see, my arguement is that Kadri's production is not good enough and to support my arguement, I pull out a points per 60 stat.
SHOCKING.
I don't mind cold hard stats at all. I work in the Business Intelligence section of an actuarial department of large insurance company.
What I don't agree with is taking a number like Corsi or Fenwick (which may or may not even be 100% correct) and then extrapolating that number into other meanings.
I don't argue against the actual stats (even though they are subject to human error/bias) I have argued against the meaning or significance assigned to them.
But yeah... Kadri is racking up HUGE amounts of 3rd assists.
