Interesting stuff
@NicholsOnHockey: McKenzie: I really believe that Ron Hextall tries to manage the impatience of Ed Snider against doing the right thing for building #Flyers.
@NicholsOnHockey: McKenzie: Are #Flyers open to deals? Yeah, I think they are. Are they panicked, feeling like they really need to light fire? Don't think so. |

Am I right to assume Gostisbehere won't always be 53. I would love to have a jersey, but not until he has his "yes, I'm here to stay and I'm an NHL player" number. |

Works for me. Any of those top 5 would look fantastic in orange and black. |

Excited about tonight's game because while they may not win and there are still obvious weaknesses in the lineup, if you squint a little bit and hope for the best, you can see that they could turn the corner on this reset by the end of the year.
Mark Streit has played up to his contract, and I think he has played very well overall for the Flyers. But they needed to see what it would look like with him out of the lineup, and now they know: While he could certainly help them upon his return, his clear value lies in trade, and if it happened to be a trade that brought back a prospect LW who could score....
With Sam Gagner and RJ Umberger, while you never want anyone to be injured, it's fairly clear to me that those two need not play for the NHL team again. They probably will, but to me, Ryan White and Colin McDonald should be the 12/13 forwards, with Nick Cousins as the injury fill-in. I'd waive either Umberger or Gagner to the Phantoms and be done with it. McDonald and White aren't great players, but they fill that role perfectly with their salaries and style of play.
Again: There are clear weaknesses on the roster. I am not saying they are close to contention, or that they are even going to win tonight. But I can see it, now. They have at least one, probably two or three, assets to trade. They have more prospects than they did three years ago, by far. And the NHL roster, while it does need an infusion of skill on the wings, is not the worst ever. Fairly average, sometimes bad. But you can see they could be good soon, with luck

It's disgraceful. We have talked about it before, but what that franchise is right now is absolutely disgraceful |

Yup
I'd actively look to move Streit at the deadline. If Anaheim picks it up, they could be a good fit. I'd be asking for their 1st in 2016 or a 2nd in '16 and LW Nick Ritchie.
As far as Umberger and Gagner go, you can add them to VLC, AMac, Schultz and Manning on my list of guys I can't wait to be rid of.

The Lakers are actually the one team they really don't want to beat(draft pick nonsense) so it would be really funny if they pulled out this win. |

I think it's fine once every couple of months as long as they don't gain any confidence or momentum from it. |

I want to see them go 0-82 and get the (frank) out of town. That entire franchise can go (frank) themselves. I never thought I'd be missing Harold Katz, but at least that putz wanted to win. |
