Nice goal by Ghost but bad giveaway by Medvedev lets Ottawa tie it. Guess we know why Hakstal was sitting him . He had two good games though , long season were gonna need them all. Vorachek needs some help!

Doesn't matter, he's probably getting waived after that.

Hakstol's fascination with VDV is getting old. VDV couldn't crack an Edmonton roster that was a 60 point team.
- PLindbergh31

It's inexcusable(sorry MJL) that these scrubs play more than Voracek. VDV is a replacement level player at best. How does him playing more than Jake give this team a better chance to win or give Jake a better chance to bust out of his slow start?

It's a (frank)ing joke.

Yup. Bellemare I get, VDV not so much.

Good period, despite the goal...Ottawa is a solid/good team, plays their system, plays hard

Man. Ghost shoots the puck better than a lot of forwards, good ones

- AllInForFlyers

Ghosts puck skills are tremendous. Hard accurate heavy shot for a small guy.

I worry about one thing with him.

His size. Can he be durable enough to hold up to an 82 game schedule?

Imagine if Ghost was 6'3" 215?

Thats not what I disagreed with.

If they want to move Streit, teams will be interested and they'll get a nice return.

Would they get even more if he's in the last year of the deal? Probably.

Happy now, Sunshine?

- BiggE

What exactly did you disagree with because I clearly stated that having another year on his deal will limit his value. What I clearly didn't say, is that teams won't be interested or that they couldn't get a nice return. So what did you disagree with?

It's game #25, I think it would be nice if Jake could contribute goal #2.

how many failed clears and stumble/bumbles do they have in their own end a game? tons. they could have blocked a 60 foot cross ice pass. i'm not killing him on that play.
he made a terrific play to break up the 2 on 1 on the previous shift. he has to be in the lineup.

Yeah I know. He still can be a really good NHL player if he's durable, and just be adequate in his own end.

Did anyone notice what Giroux did on the first faceoff in the d zone after the Del Zotto penalty. He jumped the draw early with an exaggerated draw back motion, knowing the linesman wouldn't drop the puck. Then when it was dropped, slapped it straight out. Pretty crafty.

That was a great shot and a nice pass, on the Flyers goal, but that has to be some of the worst defense I've seen. They backed off of Giroux and gave him all day to make a play, and then gave Gostisbehere all day to pick a spot.

Yeah, I'm surprised he hasn't lit up with those fantastic linemates of his and all the minutes he's getting spoon fed...oh wait.

Agreed. Yes, he shouldn't have blindly made that play, but the winger still should have been there. Maybe if he hadn 't been kept out of the lineup for weeks, his play would be sharper.

Voracek's cap hit is 8+ million next year. Not worried yet about the contract being yet another albatross. but let's face it Jake got this contract based on one season.

Gord Murphy went right to him with the chalk board. The right play was to keep on skating behind the net with the puck to the other side, rather than a blind rim.

probably drunk too.

Then again, Reggie Leach scored 5 goals in a playoff game while half in the bag. Perhaps we should replace their powerade with scotch?

Gostisbehre is still a secret weapon. Other teams are soon going to have to pay attention to when he's out there
