Would you have said Ghost was ready before they called him up? I don't think he was blowing anyone away in the AHL, but look at him now in the NHL. - funmaster18
Okay, this is not an argument haha.
It is literally exactly what the Flyers have said. If they call him up late...no harm done. If they call him up early, there are problems. So what is the big deal?
Also, he has been up here playing mostly sheltered minutes and also shooting 17%. Both wont continue, so you need to throw some water on the, "hey look at ghost, lets bring up all the prospects" thing.
There is no denying that what he brings to the Flyers was needed and he has helped them improve. The situation was ripe for him to come in and do what he is doing though |

So you're saying bring Morin up next game? |

Nailed it. Do exactly what they did with Ghost. Have them both play the point on the PP with Ghost on Morin's shoulders. |

Oooh, I like the last part. They could have a Master Blaster thing going on.
Now, if only the could combine Hagg, Straka, Alt, and Stolarz somehow. |

Sometimes playing with better players improves your game. If you watched him play the PP for the Phantoms the amount of lag time between when he was ready for the puck and when he got it gave the goalies plenty of time to react to his shot. He's getting the puck in great positions now and delivering on his shots. His defensive positioning had already improved as did his ability to position himself to recover in his own zone.
His offense should begin to translate more on 5 on 5 when he gets more confidence moving up the ice and not getting burned going the other way. He's doing the right things. - mayorofangrytown

exactly. that's why if there is a need for a guy like morin, or whoever, bringing them up for a game might be interesting, because who knows if they just excel at this level. if after a game or two, or once the need is gone and he is not playing well, send him back. not sure what's so crazy about that.
there is of course the possibility that those handful of games in the NHL could ruin their career forever, so have to keep that in mind |

Yes. He'll probably change his number next season. You should wait. |

If a handful of NHL games ruins someone's career then they weren't ever going to be an NHL player.

Good call! (I also don't like 53)
But if you are Jasq, you don't care about numbers |

So what top-6 forward are we moving to Montreal Ek? Obviously it's not Voracek since he's a bottom-6 guy now. All kidding aside, it's about time Jake gets moved back up in the lineup. I know the team is on a 3 game winning streak and that's not usually when you change things, but it's time to get him back up with more offensive talent. I like Feanor and JSaq's idea (I think it was you 2) of putting him on a line with Claude and Laughton. |

I counted at least 3 #53's at the game against Nashville. Mentioned the same thing to my wife. |

Just wait until we trade "Shutdown Seanie" and then he can have #14 back. |

Nah, he needs a good defense number, like 5 or 6. |

My point is that we might not have seen ghost if streit wasn't out long term. I think hextall is against bringing a guy up for a game or two |
