It may be beneficial to bring up Alt at some point and see what he can do. From a statistical standpoint, he looks solid at Allentown. Also, a right-handed dman with size and decent mobility is intriguing. - ravishingone
Agreed. He just got back from injury, but having a right handed shot in the top 6 moving forward would be yuuuuuge |

They need to get the PP going. If that happens, they'll start moving up the goals scored table. - Feanor

I agree only because we know what this PP is capable of....but still the biggest flaw of the team to me is ES scoring. It has been handled almost exclusively by 1 line for the last year and a half - YuenglingJagr
To be honest, the Couturier line has arguably been the Flyers best line for quite a while now. They haven't been scoring until recently, but their possession numbers were off the charts. It was only a matter of time before pucks started going in for them.
If they can keep that up and Voracek can return to the top line, they should have a pretty strong top 6. There isn't really much they can do with the bottom 6. |

The Couturier line has had the most possession in the offensive zone and yes, we are finally seeing results. I'd say this drive is being led by one Wayne Simmonds. |

Sure, but I don't see the ES scoring improving by much till more of the D prospects are on the team.
The PP is a long way off where it has been in previous seasons, so it's possible and probably likely that it will rebound this season and get up to around 20%. |

First of all he didn't duck down, he was in a shooting position, with the puck. Watch how Gudas was crunched down, and raises up into the hit, raises his arm with a direct elbow or forearm into the head. He had an option not to raise his elbow. He should have been penalized at the very least,

FIRST of all, considering Zibanejad is taller than Gudas, it would be pretty tough for Gudas to make head contact unless Zibanejad was in a ducking position, with the puck, which he was. At MOST this is a 2 min penalty for roughing, nothing suspenable. |

Solid goaltending. PK has been tight. Defense, for what it's worth, solid. Effort has been a 180 since the western Canada trip. Good way to start December. Hoping they can make a little run here to make things interesting . |

I agree it has been their best. I said 1 line, but I didnt specify that it was the same line over the year and a half. Sometimes girouxs line, sometimes coots line, a few games of the PEB line. Regardless, there is usually only one line that scores during the game |

I think there is definitely something they can do with the bottom 6. Laughton is a good player. He needs more ice time. The Couturier line is going to stay put. Put Voracek back on the top line. Depending on who is the LW on the top line, whether it's Raffl or Schenn, put the other player with Laughton. When White comes back, put him back with Bellemare and Vandevelde as the 4th line, they've played some good games. |

It's 27th, so it needs to go a lot further.

I loved Ghost's 4 on 3 goals but the PP needs to score more in regulation. - Feanor
Giroux has also produced on the PP in regulation. Off the top of my head against the Islanders in regulation and a few other times. The PP isn't going to jump from 27th to 5th over night. It is going after a slow start. |

A player is allowed to be in a shooting position, with his stick on the ice, ready to shoot the puck, or in the act of shooting, which will naturally lower his body. Just because a player is in that position, which he was well before Gudas hit him, does not make it okay to hit the player in the head. Gudas rises up into the hit, and extends his elbow/forearm right into his head. The replay is clear. If the NHL is serious about player discipline for hits to the head, Gudas should be suspended. |

Well hey, this is hockeybuzz. We can't look at anything positively here. Flyers played a good game, both Couturier and Read has strong games, but let's look for something negative. |

Despite this team being worse on paper than they were last season, their more aggressive style of play has made them a harder team to play against.
The goals will come. The kids are doing great. I'm excited for the future.

Cant argue with 3 wins in a row...Simmonds and Couturier finally producing. Ghost is lighting it up and Giroux continues to show why he is the captain and best player on this team. Mason also seems to be rounding into shape..
If we can get Voracek going it should be even more enjoyable. |

Yup. They really do need to get Voracek back with Giroux. Playing him with Bellemare and VDV is just pointless.

They have better skating dmen than they've had in awhile. Medvedev and ghost are proving to be possible better options than streit and Schultz. They are more aggressive in the neutral zone and are much quicker in puck retrievals for this team and it's getting results for this team as they are much better in the neutral zone |

Didn't Gudas throw a similar hit on Turris later in the game? |

The 4th line guys all got six minutes and change last night so Cousins and McDonald should be back in the AHL soon. But maybe Laughton will also be sent down for a while when Umberger, White and Gagner are healthy so he can get some decent playing time. |
