it's so awesome he has to play for torts again - funmaster18
Haha, I know. It's awesome having Torts back in the NHL for his post game quotes and he gets to ruin a division rival. I wonder how him and Hartnell are getting along. |

He used to have some good wars with Mike Richards back in the day. |

Richards beat him the first time, but I think Dubisnky had his number after that. But yeah, always fun to watch them go at each other. |

Morin is apparently having some struggles acclimating to the AHL. That's not surprising. He's (likely) used to being able to rely solely on his physical edge against the average 17/18/19 year old to dominate. Now, he's going up against full-grown men and he'll have to learn to still utilize his size, but to incorporate other factors into his game as well. Throwing him into the NHL after 20 games or so of AHL experience may not be wise. I think there's a better chance we see him later in the year. - jmatchett383
I'm just going by Bill who said that Morin has been playing well the past few weeks. I'm not asking them to keep him up permanently, but, a game or 3 shouldn't impede his development at all.

Id rather see AMac or Alt. Alt shoots right, which would be a Gudas replacement |

Playing a regular schedule in the AHL shouldn't either |

I believe I said back in October that it would be worth calling up Ghost to replace Manning, not because Ghost would necessarily be any better defensively, but because of the offensive spark he would provide.
As it turned out Streit got hurt and Ghost came up that way.
When Streit comes back I'd like to see him play on the second pairing with Medvedev, who is a swift skater. They may have to move LSchenn to make that happen, but that should be quite possible in January. - Feanor
Works for me, I don't see the need to have both L Schenn and Gudas on the roster anyway. One of them is sufficient.

I don't know much about Drewiske, so I looked him up. Such an odd career:

I wonder why he missed so many games between '08 and '13?
Is he a perpetual healthy scratch or does he have Carlo Coloiacovo disease? |

No it wouldn't, but I fail to see how a couple of games would do him any harm. Even if he struggles, so what? If he is the kind of player that I think he is, it will only motivate him to go back to LHV and work even harder on improving the aspects of his game that need to be improved to get him back to the NHL.

Good question. I'm thinking he's a fringe NHL player and has just filled in when teams he has played for were hit with injuries. |

yeah he was 7/8 for a while. Remember the Kings defense back then...Scuderi, Greene, Mitchell, Voynov, Johnson, Doughty, Martinez, Harrold, O'Donnell |

Maybe I am crazy, but I really just don't see the point in it all. To make us fans feel better? What is it? The guy knows what the NHL is, he has been in training camps, every player wants to get there.
Would rather let him spend 20 minutes a night working on each aspect of his game at a pace the Flyers see fit for the Phantoms than 12 minutes a night trying to get out of his own zone in the NHL. If you want to talk about the mental aspect of it, being in the NHL could distract him.
I do think there is a difference in Ghost getting randomly called up for a few games in the NHL and being sent down if he sucks and Ghost getting called up to replace Streit on the PP.
I could just be playing devils advocate, but everyone is so excited to hand out these few game tryouts like they mean something more than just a few games. To me, consistency is the most important thing....and that goes for the prospects as well as the Flyers themselves |

Yeah, probably the best bet. It would be different if it's a guy who is an established AHL player that is struggling or if it's a a young player just getting a taste for the first time. - funmaster18
Exactly. |
