Has toews NEVER been invisible during a playoff game?... I can remember a few where he wasn't much of a factor. You yourself said Crosby was a better leader cuz he got his team to the cup and won... The flyers actually had better forwards that year I believe.

They got grade-A scoring chances every single shift Laviolette even TRIED to put the third pair out

It's amazing that how bad Niemi was, the Flyers still had to play goalies who were not even at that level

BUT, and this is a huge but, I can't take anything away from what Leighton did that season to get them to the playoffs after Emery and Boucher got hurt. Yeah, he got lit up in the final, but he played as big a role in getting them there as anyone

Absolutely -- he was brutal for the entire playoffs. The Blackhawks carried him for the conference final and Cup final. That doesn't make him a horrible person, player. He's a very, very good player. But he is fallible, and his Supreme Leadership had nothing to do with the Blackhawks scoring those two goals in 50 seconds against Boston -- a series they probably should have lost, TBH
