Wish I knew what it was like for people to agree with me.

Fine. Void his contract on some trumped-up charge, have him file a grievance, and pay him to settle.
- jmatchett383

Hey, why not, it worked for the Kings.

Seriously though, I think they'll need a little more than that, as I'm sure you know.

Yes, I know they'd need more. I don't know, cite him for speeding in the practic facility parking lot or not signing autographs for the vultures outside Skate Zone.

I feel bad for Lecavalier somewhat. No one wants to go out like this. I read the article and how he spends time with his son. Go out now, and spend even more time with him, and live life and spend your millions Vinny!

He has it almost as good as the NBA bench guys who never play unless it's a blowout. That was my dream job

Wonder if his contract says his son is allowed to practice with the team

By all accounts, he's a nice guy on top of it all. I do feel kinda bad for him. It's just not a good fit.

I feel bad for him too. I think most people do, to an extent, as much as you can feel bad for someone who's getting paid millions of dollars to not play a game. He seems like a generally good guy and a good father. That being said, I want his cap hit removed (or greatly reduced) from the Flyers by any means necessary as soon as possible, preferably without use of a buyout.

I tip my hat to him for handling it professionally as well. You haven't heard many negative comments from him other than his instance with Berube remaining flyers coach past last year. Which no one cared about Bc everyone wanted Berube gone

Man...Ilya Kovalchuk is only 32 years old and could possibly be flirting with 500 goals right now (assuming he was healthy and averaged 30/year, which would be his career low) had he stayed in the NHL.

Yep, also think about where Jagr would be on the all time points list if he hadn't spent 3 years in the KHL? He may still get to 2nd place.

Oh, God no. Still, he was a fun player to watch in Atlanta. Just wonder what could have been in Heatley never got into the crash and they didn't trade Hossa and Savard away.

He likely wouldn't have ever caught Gretzky, but he'd be a top-3 for sure.

A perfect example is that turnover on that wide rim. He did that on instinct. I bet that's a play that works most of the time on the wide ice surface.
- MJL

Exactly.. also, I thought Laughton had the initial postioning to win that puck, but lack of effort on his part (and later Cousins) turned a bad play into a goal.
