Since when is having a defenseman who plays well against lesser competition a bad thing? If your first pair is great, second pair decent, and third pair great, isn't that a good thing for a team fresh off two tanking seasons?

Sabres DOMINATE posession when Pysyk is on the ice. McCabe's played well but I highly disagree he's been "better".

That being said, I'd rather keep both than have Eberle. I've actually been very happy with the defense this year.

McCabe has been a lot more noticeable, hits, goals. Pysyk is a boring hockey player, but, IMO, one that's critical to success. You are up a goal with 1.30 left - count on him to get the puck, stop momentum, and make a simple pass to get it out. No one's going to sign him to a promotions contract, but he's going to solidify the defensive part of our defense for years to come.

Oh, and he can actually offense a bit, too.

His average ice time is actually 16 minutes. McCabe's shows as 18 right now. I think we're trying to split hairs here and it's kind of silly.

Really, I'd like the two of them paired together. I think they compliment each other well. Let them develop chemistry together and you've got a pair that can be very good for you for a long time.

McCabe is more in-your-face. I'd rather have him out there with the game on the line in the offensive zone. Solid two-way defenseman.

Pysyk's skating and passing are great, and he always makes the safe play. Looks like the same player he was when he played with Ehrhoff for 40+ games.

I like both and think rating one above the other at this point is silly. That's all.
